    Again I'll repeat here

    F lahdan!

Costa.... We sign aspas then turn round and offer atletico 22 mil. The guy must've been laughing at us

This year we buy lambert and sell Suarez... Who in thier righ mind would join that?

Come on lfc go but the star then use them to attract others, don't buy dross then pretend you've a winning team when agents and players are laughing at you

When we originally tried to sign Costa he was playing LWF for Athletico and was being compared to Hulk. Rodgers really wanted a wide player at the time and opted to loan Moses.

Over the course of last season Costa moved into a CF role and really had a great season, attracting Chelsea's attention. We had Suarez and Sturridge so were not looking at an expensive striker.

TBH I'm not sure Costa would cut it as a WF in the PL, even though he's been great as a striker.

By the time Suarez was gone Costa had already agreed his Chelsea transfer.

If Klopp was in charge (or any credible manager), we would not have signed Lambert full stop. Nor we would we have spunked £45m on Lallana and Lovren.

Absolute rot. Top players have gone to all of the North Wests big clubs through choice and choice alone. Sure London is a lure for some but to say all is absolute bollocks

A shop around Europe would have gotten similar quality for half of that 45m or less

Not sure how much I can take of this muck.

£120 mill spent and we're miles worse.

Next 2 weeks are absolutely pivotal for Rodgers.

Give him a new 3 year contact, it does wonders to motivate the team <whistle>

Spent over £200m since he came and we're still relying on Johnson, Skrtel, Lucas, Stevie and now we have Lambert.

The whole team is quite embarrassing really.

He's not good enough. He stands out in a poor team just like he did in 2009.

He does provide better balance to the midfield because he's an actual DM.

It's the same with Skrtel - to some people, he looks like a top defender. But when you take other scapegoats out of the team i.e. Lovren and Stevie from the DM role, people can now see that Skrtel is bang average.

  14. Agree with TGOA, bit harsh on Lucas. Least he fights for the cause unlike the other four.

He's not digging at Lucas, he is highlighting after all the money spent we are still relying on what was there before.

And was there before was okay, but was meant to be strengthened!

  16. I know he's not digging at Lucas but I also know he seriously doesn't rate any of those five he named too :)

Haha you know me too well ;)

Any DM in the world would look good after Stevie ruined it. - now that was a dig at Lucas!

A top DM was needed ever since Mascherano left.

It's unfair to lump Lucas in with Johnson and Skrtel because he's far better and is still a good player. Not brilliant, but certainly good enough for a top 4 team. He at least fights and has some strength and balances our team. We've bigger problems than throwing Lucas to the wolves. Gerrard has his uses as a 30minute cameo player upfield. No need to throw him in that group too - same for Lambert.

The post just smacked of lets criticise a bunch of older or established players because it's easy to do. Saying that they stand out when other dross are removed is a poor excuse too. Sanchez looked poor for Barcelona but that doesn't make him a bad player because he looked average in La Liga, does it? Someone has to be the worst player in our team, but it certainly isn't Lucas and hasn't been since 2006.

Our problems today had nothing to do with any of those 5 - and I include Johnson too despite being against him play for us for 2 seasons now - but everything to do with Rodgers' inability to buy an effective forward to lead the line. You can see when Lallana, Coutinho and Sterling have the ball and are looking up ahead of them but there's nothing. It doesn't make those three bad players (or buys, I really dislike all the abuse Lallana gets for being a waste of money), it just means they have no one to link up with.

Lucas did his job. Nothing else he could do. Lucas does what he does. He is a one dimensional defensive midfielder. But at least he's performing.
