Ermmm... is it just me, but don't you think it's strange/ironic that the CEO of the FL has chosen this juncture to step away NOW from the 'fit & proper person' debacle due to a 'conflict of interest'!! Correct me if I'm wrong here, but when the FL made their initial 'ruling' I'm sure he was 'involved' in the decision making process? So,what's changed? Why has he decided (or was advised) to back away? Can we ask the FL for 'clarification' on this - or are they all busy auditioning for the Christmas pantomine season?

This is true he backed away due to conflict of interest but he had been party to all the discussions no doubt advising them on what decision to reach what can I sayBates and him our two peas out of the same stinking pod

My guess is trying to save some face against the inevitable backlash heading the way of the FL...

    ...wishful thinking of course!

Maybe this was a clever get out of jail for the fl. They get to ban Cellino for a few months thus fulfilling their obligations knowing full well hell be back in March with their blessing. No egg on anyones faces

Contrary to what you lot would like to believe, Harvey was the only one at the FL that was fighting your corner. Once they received this verdict, he could no longer fight you corner as the guilty because of a dishonest act was in black and white.
Also, some of you seem to think that Cellino will be free to re-take the reigns in March - he might do, but between now and then he has 2 further court appearances to overcome. The 1st of these is for another tax evasion charge for his 2nd yacht and a Range Rover - the 2nd if for a far more serious offence involving his time at Cagliari - one that has been put on hold for several years now, but the case is almost ready for trial.

Alas TC not true. That second case is unlikely to ever go to court. I have that on very good authority from Italian contacts. The first one will take at least another years by the time all appeals will have been exhausted. Well be long back in the pl by then. Massimo can then name his price IF he wanted to sell

All very true but TC does make a good effort to create a story but alas as normal that's all they are TC'S stories.

As he has no board of his own to play in, I suppose we have to humour him

FFS TC .. you normally make some good points but now grrrr ... Harvey was the face on TV talking up the FL and how they were disappointed Cellino won his appeal, and how they wouldn't rest until justice was done ... his so called stepping aside is typical of the lack of morality and double standards at the FL ... fcuking mates club

Don't take my word for it - they are full steam ahead and are nearly ready for trial ;)

I'm Neither for or against MC, I just hope he makes us successful or a if he goes a new owner does. But one thing I don't believe in is coincidence. The day after Haigh writes to th FL claiming evidence of fraud in the GFH takeover, with stories of them using money from dodgy regimes, the league after months suddenly reach a decision on Cellino. Who was the CEO in charge during that takeover and continued to work for GFH.
Would that CEO be the same one that once worked for the club without knowing who owned it? Would he have seen "proof of funds" from GFH during the sale of the club? Would he not see who was holding the funds for the sale and where the money was coming from. Just questions of course, no accusations, but it's funny now how the papers are no longer asking questions about this and stopped reporting on this.
