Recently the doctor asked me how long i'd been smoking and how many "ah 20 a day for 30 years" said I. "that would have made you 13 when you started" exclaimed my fine GP. "um yeah - you got a problem with that?". I was more or less asked to leave..

On the bright side at least your doctor can add and subtract.

How is he/she with long multiplication and long division? Since the advent of calculators it has become a lost skill these days.

Another reason why the 70's were better.

I don't think she's very good at sums and predictions and stuff. She wrote down a load of figures on a piece of paper and said I'd be lucky to make it to 2020 - that would only make me 50 <doh>

GP's are utter arseholes. Failures who didn't have the skill to become a proper doctor. Pill pushing ****s whose priority is working for the pharmaceutical companies and not your health.

Hivny been to one in years, in fact I don't think I've got one any more.

They have two questions. Do you smoke? Well, quit. Do you drink? Well, quit. Then they look up their wee chart of which pharma company is currently giving the best kickbacks and push their pills on you. <grr>

If I think there's anything wrong with me I get maself off to A&E. Ye have to wait about 6 hours but you do get to see a proper doctor who has been assigned to you via triage.

GP's, ****s, one nearly killed my dad. He had a history of heart attacks but his GP sent him home with some sort of pill for anxiety. Half an hour later he was on his way to A&E under a blue light with, guess what, a heart attack. <grr>

The English language is also suffering with everybody relying on spell checkers to sort it out for them rather than knowing how to spell and use grammar properly.

    Correct.

Sheer ****in laziness. Most youngsters these days could not construct a letter without resorting to text talk.

It ****in infuriates me. The English language is beautiful and full of subtle nuances and contradictions. I love using the language to the full. It is so rich in its diversity and implications. People are ruining it these days.
