We should be playing our style but exploiting other teams weaknesses, with Arsenal its thier fullbacks as Chambers and Flamini are not the quickest. I would play our fastest wideman against Chambers (even if its a youth player)to give Chambers the run around for 60 mins and then make a sub for another quicky. I do like the idea of Targett and Bertrand down the left, might get some decent set piece delivery as well with Targett. Tadic through the middle as our link between midfield and attack has been **** in the last 2 games. Really think that Ron will spring a suprise selection to shake things up, up steps Isgrove

Whoa! Wind back! Did someone say that a game against Arsenal is a six pointer? Damn! Either that is a world class WUM attempt or we really have gone up a level.
In that case, I believe the word rivals, can be entered into a sentence involving Saints and Gunners, these days.
Shame about Morgan. Maybe he should have limped back on in the second half, taken off his shirt to get a yellow and a ban from the next game and then been substituted!
Great chance to bounce back. Expect a much better performance from saints this time out. We March on!
May have got a red though for over-exciting the ladies in the crowd...the surge towards the pitch could have been dangerous.
Lawro predicting 2-0 Arsenal "This is the next test in a run of big games for Southampton after they were kept at arm's length by Manchester City, who beat them quite easily at St Mary's on Sunday. Saints have taken one point from the last two games and people are asking if their bubble has burst, but I don't think that is necessarily the case. It is just they came up against a very good side in City, and this game and the one against Manchester United on 8 December will probably give us a better idea of where Ronald Koeman's side will finish in the table. What happened against City could still affect Saints, though, and I will be very interested to see whether they play against Arsenal with the same freedom they did earlier in the season." Disappointed in Lawro....thought he would go for us because we hadn't won in two and must be due one
Don't Koeman did say that all depended on his scan, so entirely possible. Just have to make the best of it....imagine a fit and revitalized Morgan running at opposition who have burned out over Xmas. May be more productive than him playing at the tougher sides. Still rather have him back though.
Can anyone clarify whether it an Abductor or Adductor injury and what is the difference and recovery prognosis?
I thought Koeman said adductor, but that seems to be the groin and yet Ron pointed to his outer thigh which suggest abductor.
I think that's a fair comment from our favourite predictor. At the moment, we may be closer to Arsenal and United than we are to City and Chelsea but both have got quite a fearsome forward line. If our defense can hold out then of course we have a chance but it's a big if.
The match has just been discussed on Sky...they give us more of a chance against Arsenal than some of us do. We were said to be a good side and Arsenal have lost some players. Also mentioned our win in the Cup...pointed out that it was a different side, but that it must give us confidence having won at the Emirates already.
