    Not good news at all.

Elliot is a decent shop stopper but we missed Krul on Saturday. A lot of games in the next 6 weeks too :(

I still think we chose the wrong keeper, should have sold Tim and kept Fraiser

Tim was better at the time. He's not any worse now.

Forster still has terrible positioning in comparison to his shot stopping, which was always the case. He doesn't command his area as well as Krul either. He attracted headlines at Celtic for setting a clean sheets record in one of the most one sided league campaigns ever, and an excellent shot stopping display against Barcelona. His display against Barcelona wasn't even on a par with Tim's against Spurs last year, but got headlines because of it being Barcelona. I'm not saying he's not a good keeper, but he is not as good as many think IMO.

To be fair, I didnt take much notice of Forster's performences at Celtic because I dont rate the league. At Southampton, he has only conceeded somthing like 8 goals? Obviously thats a combination of good work from the defence/midlfield, but still a good effort so far. Not sure they will keep it up with the fixtures upon them

I rate both to be honest. Both have their faults. Forster still a bit panicky coming out and doesn't seem to know when to come or go. Made a better decision yesterday but still has his moments. Krul has awful distribution but has at least started to stop booming it as far as possible all the time.

I think it is easy to forget they are still baby's in keeping terms and the best is very much yet to come. Same goes for Hart really who is only 27 himself. They are all 3 or 4 years away from beginning their peak years.

I couldn't really split Krul and Forster but at a push maybe Krul. Both great shot stoppers, both excellent on crosses. Maybe Krul is just that bit more consistent with his shot stopping and has better judgement coming out to close a one on one. Forster better on crosses probably due to his mass, Krul still has the odd flappy game. We were lucky to have both at one time but due to their talents, it was never going to remain that way.

Elliott was awful on Saturday. Practically every time he came off his line he was flapping at crosses.

This is unfortunately true. I thought he should have got to the ball they scored from before Cresswell reached it as well

I too thought Elliott was poor on Saturday. Flapping at crosses, hesitant and distribution poor. Pardew now saying Krul out for 11 games so god help us ( seems to go up day to day )

He was all over the place. Plus, his distribution [which is normally spot on] was atrocious.

I'm not an Elliott fan at all as I have said many times. I think he is sub standard even as a back up option. I will cut him a little slack on Saturday however. He had to come in out of the cold and looky a little nervy. That can happen and is the reason a lot of clubs like to go for an old hand as back up. They know their game a bit better. He was flappy again and maybe could have done better on the goal as Freddd says. He probably goes a little unnoticed though if it is not such a tight game with so little created.

Lets not forget though, that goal was largely down to Yoan Gouffran. First loses the ball in midfield, then makes little attempt to track back, then reacts too slowly when danger goes from amber to red. I was bitterly disappointed by him. He showed signs of finally turning the corner after a horrendous run of form when coming off the bench against QPR. So with Cabella out of sorts, Pardew gives him a chance and he ****ing blew it for me. Yes Tiote and Janmaat could have reacted quick, Elliott could have got out, but Gouffran was both the source of the fire and the **** standing with the extinguisher but not knowing how to use it. Great deal of luck involved but I do think he could have stopped it.

If Elliot plays in the Derby we will lose. Simple as that.

Agree. We have a rough few weeks coming up with fixtures and these injuries are getting ridiculous.

At this rate, I'll be playing in the derby match, let alone Elliot.
