There's No such thing as a wasted vote and talk like that is quite frankly a ****ing insult to all those who've died protecting our right to do so.

Also tell that wasted vote bollocks to Brighton.

Try reading their proposals, they used to be ridiculous like wanting fuel duty sky high etc but their current proposals are pretty sound

I agree that there is no such thing as a wasted vote and it is an insult to those who choose to actively participate in the democratic process. Just because you do not agree with a voter choice it doesn't make it any less valid. What is a true waste is the apathy vote. Millions died for us to have the freedom to choose who governs us and yet millions waste this precious gift by not bothering to vote. If you dont vote and participate then you can't complain - Simples! <ok>

Do you try to vote for the local MP or vote for the political party? Personally Id like to see a much more decentralised system with more power at local government level. I think people would take much more notice of policies and be more likely to vote if they can see the work happening on a more local level.

I have always detested the Tory party, but my local MP is a Tory and I get on really well with him, we frequently converse by email and he doesn't always toe the party line!

Would you vote Tory based on the fact he is a better MP? Or would you vote for an MP who is worse or you dont know just so you can vote for a different party. It is a hard call in many respects.

You can't beat a very good constituency MP no matter what their political persuasion!

He's actually very approachable and he actually listens, if you ask him to do something totally against Tory policy, obviously he will decline, but he's up front about it and explains why he can't do it!

It's normally fairly close between Tories and Lib-Dem, I think the Tories will keep this one though!

The Lib Dems are in complete meltdown so I wouldn't be surprised if the Tories hold the seat perhaps with an increased majority. Where I live we have a sitting Tory MP with a slender majority over Labour do this will be on a knife edge at the election.

Not voting means you get to complain about all of them.
People should do it more often.

They all have a dumb or abhorrent side to them.

The trouble is their ideals get in the way.

I just wish there was a box on the voting slip for "Reopen Nominations" or "None of the above". That way it's obvious who hasn't voted because they don't care, and who is sick to the back teeth of the lot of them.

The problem with that is who to send to Westminster when "none of the above" wins the seat!

I'm not sick to the back teeth of them, its practically an impossible job.

I'm more sick of the people in this country who believe what the newspapers write. Left or right, its all very editorial and cannot be trusted.

Too many people believe their bullshit. Our politicians almost don't stand a chance against the lies.

As I said earlier to those disenfranchised, before not voting look at ALL the options including the Green party they are not the nuts they used to be or are still portrayed to be.

Everyone should use their vote even if you're going to spoil it because spoilt ballots are counted too

    Monty Brewster?

They're all as bad as each other. The way I see it is:

I could vote conservative because Labour to me represent the greater evil
I could vote Lib dem and waste my vote on a dying party and Labour might get in
I could never vote Labour, even if the difference detween them and the Tories is now minimal
I could vote MRLP, Green, independant, but then Labour might get in and there is literally no chance of my vote making a difference
I could vote UKIP? Now this is the protest vote of choice, currently it would appear I could vote for them without being cast down as a racist! For me it is an interesting option, would I want them in power? Sweet lord no, I'm not sure I could trust them to order a round let alone run the country. But when voting, that is to be weighed up against the total disaffection I now feel for UK politics and the two main parties (formerly 3 but as said above the Lib dems are deadducks). Do they listen? Ever? Are they all for feathering the nests of themselves and their vested interests? Now I'm not for one minute saying that UKIP, would listen and wouldn't feather nests, but their rise is off the back of listening to a number of issues that the main parties wish to sweep under the carpet. And labour might get in!

So in short for me it is a straight question of do I want to send a message to the Labcon elite and vote UKIP. Or do I vote Tory because I can't stand the prospect of another labour government? They are not great choices to be honest, but really that is what I face.
For the first time we have a protest vote to scare the bejesus out of the conlab cronies, I might just do it!

    Bah!
