You say he was unsighted and moaned he didn't move. Which way would you have moved if you were unsighted?
Same story as Villa for me - plenty of crossing opportunies from open play and dead balls, but poor delivery, or too slow getting the cross in, allowing the defenders to set themselves.
We've lost some sharpness and that's been true for the last few games...however, we will regain it. Every team has blips...just have to make sure we don't lose too many points before we are back on track.
I thought he could have. They were well placed but he's so slow to get down on the first one and the second one he doesn't even move.
Instinctively, as a keeper you tend to know when a shot is coming. The players in front of you move, you react to that. I'm not holding him responsible for any of the goals, but I would have expected a reaction to each of the first two shots, and it wasn't forthcoming.
Oh for goodness sake. He was never getting to Lampard's shot so whether he moved or not is irrelevant. Spend more time wondering why Lampard was given so much ****ing room on the edge of the box. And he was unsighted for the first, so unless he guessed which way the ball is going and risk diving the wrong way he had to wait a split second.
He won't get down for the low shots due to his height/stature. He's good on one-on-ones for Aguero's chance, though. It does seem that we concede very few shots on target and a high percentage of them go in - that doesn't mean it's Forster's fault though as none of the goals were today, but we seem unlucky that despite preventing a lot of shots on target, the ones that get through tend to be in the corner.
The only concern during the match today was him not coming for the ball for the one on one but not many seem to be pointing that out. That was the only fault today and he made a brilliant save to make up for it.
Disagree. I thought his decision making re the one-on-one was completely vindicated. His lack of movement for the first two goals on the other hand, while not making him responsible for them, was more of a cause for concern imo. It is just an opinion though.
Agree, not solely his fault nor do I think he definitely should have saved them but I think he could have reacted better to both. Hyperbole about scapegoating isn't needed here, neither is calling anyone pathetic.
That one he shouldn't have come out as it was covered by the defence and he caused a problem. This time he should have come out. Decision making is one of the things that Boruc was bad for. They are both great shot stoppers. Never mind. A different opinion to the masses so I must be wrong.....and I never played football so I don't know what I'm on about and all that.
No-one is making him a scapegoat. HE was not at fault for any of the 3 goals. I blame the crap referee and linos
We rode our luck in the first half. I thought Schneiderlin and Wanyama were our best players, but after the former went off injured it was always going to be difficult. We were tired and because of this their first two goals came from us giving the ball away in our own half.
In my opinion Fraser did attempt diving save for the first goal, but the ball was deflected, whoever it hit should be given the goal by the dubious goals panel.
Forster - 6 Clyne - 5 Nervous on the ball and weak in the tackle Fonte - 5 Quite a few misplaced passes Toby - 7 Best player along with Morgan and Victor. Bertrand - 6 Victor - 7 Morgan - 7 Davis - 6 Some of his set pieces were awful and rarely beat the first man. Tadic - 2 He was pretty poor most of the game, gifted the ball to the opposition on numerous occasions (ie third goal counter came from his corner) Mane - 5 Better than he played at Villa in my opinion, looked to cause more problems than tadic. Pelle - 4 Too many fancy flicks when a simple pass would suffice. Subs Yoshida - 4 Long - 6 Looked bright and got Mangala sent off Mayuka - N/A
We missed Cork who was out with a virus. He would have come on when Morgan went off. We're also missing JWP's delivery from set pieces. Far from a meltdown though. We were simply outplayed by one of the best teams in the division.
