Brilliant first half, grafting second half, big performance and a great win.
Hanging on a bit at the end, but that was far, far better than most of what we've seen this season.

  2. Anywhere else on the pitch that would have been given. <doh>

Three straight wins now but I wish we'd win by more than one goal. I said yesterday Spurs to edge it but I was wetting my undies there. Well done for coming back but for goodness sake boys take the lead in a league match and we'll be flying. 7th place is good enough for me at the moment.

Well done Spurs at last a real performance of grit.

  6. The sort of performance that even if the result hadn't gone our way I would have been happy. Great team effort. And the defence looked a whole lot better today.

How much better do we look without Kaboul, Adebayor and the rest of the bad lot in the team!

They should all have a nice trip out to Turkey and see if they can do anything to justify coming back into the match squad.
The spirit of the side today was so much better than it has been and the atmosphere at the ground seemed to reflect that.

Maintaining that intensity for 90 mins is still not there yet.
The manager needs subs who are going to be capable of that.

We deserved to beat a very good everton team who have been plaing well...we out fought them, were quicker to the second ball, played fast passing football and created chances.

Imo only chiriches had an average game...everyone else was good or very good.

We came back from a hammer blow of a goal so we showed some great character

  11. Have to partially disagree on that. Lamela - although not contributing much going forward - covered well replacing Lennon and certainly didn't lack commitment - just ask Baines!! And Paulinho looked about as mobile and energetic as at any time since his first game against Palace 15 months ago.

  12. I like Martinez, but his focus on the 'handball' not being given does him no credit. It was at most a debatable decision that could have been given - but as could the foul on Kane: equally debatable.

I accept that Lennon may well have tired and needed to be replaced. However, I can't accept that Lamela looked anywhere near as dangerous.

  14. Wouldn't disagree with that comment at all - but my concern was that we would lose the cover for RB when Lennon came off, but that didn't happen as Lamela at least put himself about and covered well. He did have two decent opportunities on the break that he didn't show much for which was disappointing - especially as I had him down to score today!! lol

"Have to partially disagree on that."

Would you have trusted Chadli, Dembele etc to have done that ??

Martinez sounded like a petulant twat...a shame cos he usually comes across well...claiming our goals were lucky... <doh>

I hope we don't see Adebayor in a white shirt again as the whole team looks happier without him.

I can understand how he can think that the first goal was fortunate, but not the second.
I don't even know what part of it he thought involved luck.
