Forster - 6 - Not impressed with him on the first 2 goals. Could have done better on both. Excellent 1v1 vs Aguero though.

Clyne - 6 - Okay defensively, a few runs forward but he struggled to get to the byline.
Fonte - 6 - Again he did alright, could have given away a penalty in the first 10 minutes and lost his man a few times at corners.
Alderweireld - 7 - One of our better performers today, won a lot in defence and played pretty well as a defensive midfielder.
Betrand - 6 and a bit - Played as well as Clyne with less defensive cover from Mane.

Wanyama - 7 - Probably our best player, very solid defensively. Struggled a bit against Toure but who doesn't? Took on the mantle of creative midfielder when Morgan went off and did his best but we all know that's not his forte.
Schneiderlin - 7 - Looked good for the first half buzzed about well making tackles and pressing, we missed his switches in the 2nd half.
Davis - 5 - Offered Little on his return, hopefully this is just down to rustiness.

Tadic - 4 - Poor today, did pretty much nothing going forward. Set pieces were poor at best, and offered little in defence.
Mane - 5 - Better than Tadic offensively but very rash decision making. **** defensively didn't cover at all, and failed to keep Hart in his place at corners.

Pelle - 5 - Didn't do much today won a few headers but rarely to great effect. Bottled his best chance.

I don't think Forster really had any chance with any of the goals. Wanyama was immense in the first half, however when Schneiderlin went off and Wanyama was pushed forward from the base of the midfield trio he gave the ball away much more regularly. In my opinion Alderweireld was our best performer today.

Forster had no chance with any of the goals. Toure's went through a load of players and Lampard's was in the bottom corner. Not sure how he's at fault for either. For the one on one against Aguero he was far too indecisive. excellent save in the end, but he would have got to the ball first if he had gone for it.

    Forster - 5

    Clyne - 5
    Fonte - 5
    Alderweireld - 6
    Bertrand - 5

    Wanyama - (7 1st half) (4 2nd half)
    Schneiderlin - 5
    Davis - 5

    Tadic - 4
    Pelle - 5
    Mane - 4

Very average today, hence all the 5's. Little done wrong, just nothing right. Tadic has gone missing, whether that's tiredness or he just doesn't suit these bigger clubs

Wanyama was my MOTM, he had an absolutely massive game.

It was very important for Forster to make that one on one save vs Aguerro when he did, because his confidence might have started to slip. I basically agree with the OPs observations re the first 2 goals. He was unsighted, yes, but he didn't move.

Trouble is every goal he's conceded has been unsaveable and he doesn't move. I get the feeling a different keeper might move and might save 1/6 instead.

Mane ineffective, and Tadic was woeful - by far his worst game for us. The others did ok, but City were better. Victor MOTM.

Can't be bothered to rate but Forster should have been off his line for that 1 v 1 and would have got to it first by a mile. When the ball was played through I was waiting for him to come into picture and was amazed to see him where he was. He did well in the end but it doesn't bode well for the future. He is very slow / scared to come off his line.

Exactly, he had no time to do anything! Didn't notice him on the ball once.

Can't really rate him for being on for such a short time though.

Tadic gets a 1 from me. I can understand player's can have a bad game but the amount he is paid he didn't work hard enough. He let the whole team down. He was wasteful, delayed passes, offside too much, dispossessed too much. We have to carry him when we lose the ball as he can't be bothered helping us get the ball back. Should have been all over the rebound from the Davis shot but looked like he was ball-watching on his heels . Really disappointing.

Wanyama was good in the first half, but ran out of steam second half. Schneiderlin set the tempo in the midfield in the first half for stealing the ball back. We missed him badly when he went off. None of the other players were up to their usual standards.

The main problem was the lack of through balls and early balls over the top when we had space in behind their defence. They were very organised in midfield, they were excellent. Milner and Lampard made a huge impact from the bench. The worry for me is we looked out of ideas 11 vs 10 and things didn't get much better 11 vs 9. I've seen no replays but the Aguero decision looked like a stone wall penalty from where I was. I'd like Long to start against Arsenal. We need to make use of his pace and get him the ball early. Try to play him in behind.

I don't agree with bringing Yoshida on either. It should have been Gardos.

Very harsh to blame Forster for any of the goals, not a massive fan of his, but couldnt see how he could have prevented them.
Thought Long did well when he came on, Pelle wasnt getting much joy out of their defence, but Long certainly caused them a few problems.
Losing Morgan hurt us especially with Cork not being on the bench, and thought Milner made a massive difference to them when they bought him on. Never been much of a fan of his, but every time i have seen him this season he has been one of Citys best players.
At the end of the day we played a City team that is almost certainly the second best team in the League, and probably put in one of their best performances of the season today. Hopefully we can perform a bit better in the next 2 games.

I stopped reading after you said Forster could have done better on the first two goals. We better sign superman in goal next.
