No. Realistic options to replace him were Yoshida, Reed and Gardos. Reed may not be ready to be thrown in against Man City but I'd have gone with Gardos ahead of Yoshida.
Some overreacting going on here. Shock horror. At half time, we went off with the commentators saying it had been a very even half. We then lost our key midfielder and conceded a goal as the ball spilled out to the very man he would have been marking. We then got a bit sloppy as we chased the game - but we exerted enough pressure to see 2 Man City players get sent off. The second half was not great - but we were chasing for most of it and that's how it can be sometimes.
Was really looking for Victor to take apart Tours, ere... well that did happen. His passing was awful and the missed tackle on the first goal. Had a poor game.
Right i'm over it. still third. Better than struggling lower end of table and it was against Man city. Evry team has a bad patch and if ours is against the best teams in the league then good. We can pick up points against the rest and still finish top 8
Disagree about Alderweireld. He looked a bit unsure of himself in mid. And gave the ball away for their first. Shame Harry Reed wasn't thrown in.
I don't think that's fair. Man City pressed with intensity, they passed with purpose and they took their chances. If we'd taken our chances, we'd have been well in that game. They have quality on and off the ball.
I thought their passing was excellent. Crisp and accurate for the most part. Anyway, not to worry - focus on the mid week game now.
