Bollox. Apart from 1st November, it may have just have been the month that destroyed our season. Lost them all by 1 goal. Dare I say is Slav the man for the job?
Unlucky fellas. Hard to say from the stats that you didn't deserve something from that Might be the boost we need though!
This is not what I was expecting to post after stewing all the way home. But after a bit of reflection...we were the better team and on another day we would have won comfortably. Their keeper was MotM. However, we didn't win and there are problems. There are cracks that our early form papered over. Said it before and I'll say it again, we do not look like a team. Today we looked like a collection of talented individuals that were under-performing. Little evidence of a game plan, and yet we were the better team. Looking at the replay of their goal Gomes HAS to get to that ball, but more disturbing (and I may be wrong) is that Ekstand appears to be laughing as he trudges away. I hope I'm wrong, because some players are under performing more than others and he is one of them. Stand out player for me was Paredes, for all the wrong reasons. He...was...awful, but I repeat, on another day we would have won comfortably.
Well, sadly, I've seen 3 of the 4 recent losses. Yes it's painful. Yes our defence does encourage other teams. Yes we've lost to other teams not as good (actually only Brum really earned their win and they had no guile at all). Today was strange. Vydra would have had 3 by halftime with reasonable luck. NO I DON'T BLAME HIM AT ALL. We played better football almost all the game. Cardiff's time wasting was so embarrassing, but who doesn't do it ? So, I have 1 reservation about SJ. The obsession to 'control' the game is inhibiting us - except that today we tried everything - so that isn't right. Also, Paredes is the most exciting non-defending defender I have ever seen. I think we will come good, start to win, continue to win, and be in top 2 at the end ! Maybe blind Stupid & desperate should return !!
Bloother, Marshall was their outstanding player in the Prem - I was surprised he wasn't sought after in the summer.
Marshall should be playing in the Prem. He was easily the best keeper up there last season and our poor "goals conceded" column was nothing to do with him. He's been with us now for 5 years and has developed in that time. When Dave Jones bought him from Norwich he wasn't that consistent and our other keeper Tom Heaton (now at Burnley) often got the nod over him. He and his family are very settled in Cardiff although both Spurs and Arsenal both allegedly bid something like £8M for him when we dropped out of the Prem, he told the club he really didn't want to go. Spurs wanted him to play second fiddle to Lloris and Arsenal similarly to Szczesny. We tagged him as worth £15M of anyone's dosh and although both Liverpool and Southampton with the cash they got off Liverpool for Lallana and Lovren came sniffing, the other top sides up there were well set with what they had. Our good fortune because Marshie will be instrumental in the side if we are to mount a serious challenge to get back up - as you guys probably witnessed yesterday.
Thanks for that info spark, interesting. No offence but one phrase that makes me chuckle is "a serious challenge to get back up" as if you belong there! You have spent precisely one season in the Premiership or old First Division in the last 60 years. We also have supporters and the media talking about "going back up" - we have spent all of 2 separate seasons in the Premiership and our 6 season stay in the old First Division is but a memory. Why is it that a mere 1 or 2 seasons in the sun immediately qualifies a club to "get back"?
Didn't say it "qualifies us to get back up" now did I pal? I was just stating the obvious - we came down so would like to get back up. Is that too hard to understand? Spending precisely one season in the Premier League in the past 60 years has got nothing to do with it. We harbour the desire to return there once again like any other club supporter who has experienced it. If I was a fan of one of the current bottom two clubs Wigan and Blackpool, I would be entitled to say the self same thing - though I think at the moment both of us have a slightly better chance than them of achieving it.
I'm certainly not your "pal" - I was making a general point on the qualification bit not aimed at you - but if you've taken offence - tough.......... I've been to Cardiff a number of times for the football and never received a friendly welcome yet. I can see why.
Nobody has taken offence except it seems you. Chill out "pal" - that's a pretty pathetic observation of yours on the use of the word on a forum. If you've never received a friendly welcome in Cardiff, maybe it's because of your spiky nature. If you're like this on a forum, God help you when chatting to other club supporters in the flesh.
