New Order - Power, Corruption & Lies

Thing I always loved about this album cover was that there was nothing on either side of the cover or the inside sleave to tell you the name of the band or the album. The details were on the vinyl label only.

The Return of the Durutti Column by Durutti Column.

Cover didn't name band or the album and the sleeve was made of sandpaper. Novel idea but you kept findings little bits of sand stuck to your other albums and on the floor. My copy lost most of the sand within a few years. Nutty guys at factory records! <laugh>

no band will ever top what TOOL have done for their album covers. they are so called special edition but they are the standard way the albums are sold. the 10,000 days album i bought for £7.99 when it was released and its album cover i cannot show properly on here, but you can get the gist of it. basically, build into the cover is two eye thingys to look through and as you look through them at the pictures within the album it gives a superb 3D effect of all the pictures inside. it is quite literally stunning. same with the special edition album cover of Aenima.

Celebrate Your Mother by The Eighties B-Line Matchbox Disaster. Song about a guy who wants to shag his best mates mum. Released a week or so before mothers day. Some prude insisted on the explicit lyrics sticker otherwise I love to imagine some old dear getting a copy from her well meaning child not knowing what the song was about! <laugh>
