Darren Bent and Brighton

I know it’s not policy to post about others but this is kind of relevant on two counts. The first is obviously our past connection with Darren Bent and the second is perhaps the more significant as he’s joining Brighton on loan and is expected to play against us on Saturday.

Sami Hyppia has ’snapped’ him up on an initial 28 day deal with an option to extend. No idea what the financial terms are but wasn’t aware that Brighton were flowing in cash to pay his wages. And Villa are not normally known for their benevolence ……

…. if there is a change of heart , since the other half in the pic is only getting the occasional bit part for them, maybe we should ask for a share of that goodwill.


Goodness knows which ‘Bent’ will turn up on Saturday but we do have a nasty habit of letting struggling players/teams get a first against us.

 

Thankfully when the inevitable happened, his classless celebration seemed to inspire our comeback.

 

Stockdale and Hughes both deserve fans' applause yesterday. Contrast Darren Bent who contributed more to our win.

 

What an absolute muppet Bent was with that celebration and as SuperBri said on the other thread, well done Hugo for telling him to "Behave..!!" -

And just a small point about Stockdale. Thought his distribution was excellent throughout - Bettinelli should take note.

 

I'd still take bettineli over Stockdale now.
