We've spent enough in my opinion - maybe Ben Arfa and Ramirez should have their loans cancelled if there are better options out there but otherwise I think we have enough quality.
Steve Bruce put's it down to individual errors; can we include his tactical naivety in that? The wrong man is wearing the Skippers armband, Curtis Davis is becoming a liability in a critical position in this dire defensive approach. Someone needs to rein Robertson in, as he is becoming defensively desperate. Van Gaal knew exactly what to expect and their training focussed on that, they moved the ball quickly, keeping possession. That should concern us, as we have a manager who publicly claimed he was ambitious to get 3 points from his old club, but clearly defended for a draw and got sorted. If your tactics put enough pressure on your defence then it will force individual errors, just as it will knock confidence. We are tactically predictable and we need options from the manager.
Hate to say we SAFC fans told you so... Throw Mannone in and you've got a deal. We're currently weak upfront and in goal. Our trouble's not really Bruce's management but rather the fact that we struggle to get top, top players like those two to come to play for us.
Was proud of us after that game. Learnt before the game the if you take away the 8-0 we have the second best defence in the league. Only problem is we can't take that 8-0 but I think it's working in our favour, think a lot of teams are led into a false sense of security in regards to our defence. Ben Arfa has a huge attitude problem throughout his career and is too much of a luxury player in a team like ours
