I have to say I'm pretty disappointed that this thread turned out this way. I've unstuck it, I don't want this crap sitting at the top of the board, if I'd been here earlier I might have closed the damn thing but I don't like doing stuff like that and would rather everybody sorted it out between themselves. I think a number of posters should look at their overall conduct towards each other, things are the best they've been for ages at Town right now so I have no idea why we need to get into slanging matches like this one or continually bait each other into retaliation. It's certainly not going to attract more people to contribute here.
I apologise for my part ..maybe I should let things slide now and then....i caught up with the thread after a day on the juice in Woodbridge and got a little wound up, if sober I might have not bothered but that's no excuse... Sorry if I offended anyone I shall try to behave better in future.
Apologies for my part in it SD, Ijust don't get why some people have it in for MM. As has been said we are in better shape now than I care to remember, it is clear reading back in the thread at what point the mud slinging started, I took the bait admittedly but I just can't see what there is to criticise at this time, as I said (IMO) the thread was hijacked with digs at fellow posters that were unwarranted. I have also been back through this thread there are two posts #11 & #19 that are clearly written in a way to provoke reaction, I took the bait at #19......
Well said SD. The team we all suposedly love are in a better place than we have been for some years and still the baiting and hating goes on. As we know opinions are like arseholes,we all have one but at the end of the day lets enjoy what MM and TC are doing and make the most of what is looking half promising at the moment.
JWM Asked at the start of this thread "There are a lot of people who regularly look at threads but don't contribute and I just wondered why you guys (you know who you are) do not come on to make a contribution!" I think the way this thread has gone has answered his question.
And I so wanted this thread to be different sparrow, that's why I stuck it to the top. A lot of us have been posting together for many years and speak to each like good ol' pals down the pub but that doesn't make this board our private playground. I sometimes feel for the other regular posters who don't get drawn into these battles but read it all the same.
It will be interesting how things go over the next few days/weeks, due to one poster saying they are going to stay away for a while!
to be fair to Spanish, him and JWM are of the same nature when posting. In years gone by when they were on the same side of the argument it made for some interesting debates and due to the fact that the likes of myself would try to counter their arguments with 'long winded waffle' and they would simply say 'W@nk£r$' and that would be the end of it meant for no long term angst. These days they are on the opposite side of the argument and so just seem to wind each other up. That doesn't mean that outsiders should see this as a hostile place. its just the way things are. I am likely to 'waffle' to tell you your idea is rubbish whereby other will just get straight to the point!!! Come and join in, if you don't like it you can leave but we are all here for the same reason. Debate, a laugh, letting off steam and commenting on the way the club is going. We all have different ways of thinking on how the game should be played so it will never be all smiles but its generally worthy of 5 minutes of your time.
The thing is TB if we stuck to the topic we were discussing things would be fine, people have different views and expectations and that is what is good about this site, personally I don't mind a bit of gentle ribbing, if someone thinks I talk rubbish that's fine but when things get into 'keyboard warrior' stuff it does get silly I'm also not a big fan of the use of the phrase '******' among a few others I find it in poor taste but I try to ignore it mostly. As for the way the team play I am still amazed at how far we have come in a fairly short time under MickMa the style of play I think is streets ahead of anything under Keane and Jewell we have an attitude about us and a unity we are not playing sexy football but for once we are playing competitive football, and imo football has ups and downs and as fans we need to enjoy any ups that come along because the next down could be just round the corner.
Nothing wrong with waffling. There was always going to be fireworks when Spanish and JWM finally we on differing sides of the coin Debate with banter is fine, goading and insults don't count as banter. The wider variety of opinions we have on here the better, how dull it would be if we all agreed with each other. Debate is the nature of the game not insults and cutting people off expressing their opinions
I check in on here most days as i like to get the opinions of other town fans. Anyone going to Brentford on boxing day ?
