MOTD edited out a great passage of play, such a pity that his four consecutive dragbacks didn't result in a goal. He linked up well with Charlie Austin and was back defending late until he was substituted. In the absence of Adel Taarabt, Niko Kranjcar and Eduardo Vargas seem to be our most creative players.
It was short and sweet on motd. ...no surprises really we are considered small fry. Some good football played today nico is still a class act.
I thought Green and Fer were our best. Green made a key good save at 1-1 and don't remember him making a mistake, when last week he made a hatfull. Fer had his best game yet for us. Very encouraging. But what wasn't was the way bottom of the league Foxes sliced through us again and again. I thought we really missed Our Big Bald Brazilian protecting our back 4 with his presence and smartness. Henry seemed to have gone walkabout up the pitch and Barton defensively seemed a yard behind their counters.
I thought Niko was the MOM today. Fer was our best player in the first half but faded in the 2nd. Very difficult to pick any other player who played consistently well today. That said, I have left in a great mood having picked up 3 points in a hard earned win. I can't fault the effort but it wasn't one for the purist.
A fit Krancjar is the key imo along with better use of Vargas. Just a shame that HR still seems to think that we can only use defensive starting line ups away from home.
Vardy is another player like Charlie who has come through non-league and works his socks off, gave us plenty of trouble yesterday but without Green we'd have been well-beaten. Niko was the class act on the field yesterday and it's good to see the best of him as we'll need it now...
As always, Nico was very good on the ball, but he is so slow he just can't play out wide!! He was only in the game now and then and I don't think he was anywhere near MOTM. Harry again played 4 central midfielders across the midfield. Joke!
I thought Niko was a way off his form of earlier in the season. Hopefully he is still rusty and gets back to that level soon. We need him in around their box when we don't see Adel.
I agree he was less effective as the game entered the last 30 minutes, but there were some sublime touches before that. He always has time on the ball to turn and face the defender, keeping them guessing whether he'll shoot or lay the ball off. In the absence of Adel Taarabt, he's our most creative player. As the game entered the last third, he was also tracking back and covering; then wisely, he was substituted as he started to tire. I cannot fault his efforts.
