When Jon Lansdown makes statements like this -

Football managing director Jon Lansdown told The Post: "Fans would be consulted every step of the way. We will ask them what they think is required to enhance supporter experience.
"The stadium would be designed with fans in mind; there would be full engagement and consultation to ensure we represent the history and heritage of the club as fans would like."

A lot more could have been expected. It has red seats granted, but if City fans had ever been consulted at every step I seriously doubt they would have asked for design that looks like any other flat pack stand.

It is not my money, it is not my stadium, but the club could have chucked out that image last year or te oe with rails and saved peoples time rather than go to a pointless open day.

Mr Lansdown is taking us from, on the whole, a 1950's stadium to a new modern looking one, at his cost, for our benefit, and yet people still moan about it (check out OTIB!)....I give up!.........got to admire the guy, because most would have said sod this miserable lot, I'm off.

Check the SC&T on Ashton Vale. It clearly identifies a bowl as undesirable. BS are calling this a bowl.

I do not go to football to admire the fast food units. Having met Mr Lansdown I doubt he will not care what fans really think, because millions of the cost will be for the corporate facilities not for any "our", its a about corporate facilities. The concept of one stand is titled by Barr and BS "Corporate". The stadium is his property and he is doing what he wants with it, the naivety is from people who do not understand that.

He who pays the piper, calls the tune!

And frankly, I for one, am very pleased and grateful that my City are getting an up to date stadium at last.

You're just one of those fans that are never happy.... rarely do I see you on here with comments of praise or anything remotely positive. You're always moaning about something...

I'm hoping that the Atyeo gets replaced by a stand as high as the new west stand in the future.
The south stand on its own doesn't look the best but it will look good along side the dolman and new west stand.

I am/was supportive of the five pillars, the extension of the academy, the community trust and the facility destined for Ashton Vale .. Blah.

BS - BCFC promised a consultation at every step. You asked questions in this thread which should not need answering, as they should have already been dealt with within the promised full engagement of the consultation. Not ONE person can answer your question thoroughly.

I work with people 1-2-1 if I was as opaque as BS - BCFC are within my service , I would have no employment.

We should be soooooo grateful - imagine if we had Higgs.

Shiny, someone should tell Clifton there's only one Victor on here.

I can see a tunnel in the west stand, perhaps there is plans to have the dressing rooms there incase of Expanding the Atyeo.

Atyeo dressing rooms to be used for other purposes. New dressing rooms I understand to be situated under rebuilt Williams somewhere near the current shop. A tunnel to centre of stand for entry to pitch.

He who pays the piper yeah but what was the point of the open days? They are building another stand to one that was pictured on the boards and had a team of people on hand to answers question son stand that will never get built. It was a waste of fans time. They even asked fans to send in e mails of ideas at the open day, ideas there was obvioulsy had no intent of using. It is sort of funny looking back at it.

Its the Victor types fans have wanted to avoid which is why they have asked the club top back up what they said and get it right.

No standing and no unreserved area in the South stand Shiny? You might end up sat in a seat next to a real Victor.

No doubt it's a huge improvement over what we have now but I can't help but think that we showed no imagination with both the AG redevelopment and Ashton Vale. When I think of some of the new stadia that have been built in recent years from Huddersfield, Bolton & Brighton, it just seems that we went for the most boring designs possible. I guess at the end of the day it has to be functional and gratitude is due to Mr. Lansdown for financing it bit it's just so dull to look at. 45 million pounds should have more panache!

Just out of interest here, but maybe the club did listen to the fans and this is what the majority wanted?

I can understand some might be pissed off with what's happened but I didn't vote but given the fact my legs are ****ed I won't be standing at games again. Used to love it in the old enclosure and then when we all moved to A and B block I stayed there.

But just because some voiced their concerns saying they didn't want this model, is not always the way things pan out as a majority vote.

Where is the evidence base? Fans were asked to fill out feedback cards at the open day. Nothing was heard of them. Regarding the Ashton Vale design the Supporters trust ran two surveys to identify a consensus.

Several people on the development group from the Fans Parliament said the club presented them a design, which safe standing apart could not be altered. Speaking to the architect at the open day he explained that he was given a remit to follow and that was it, the fundamentals were decided the design could not be changed.

If the rumoured independent fans bar appears in the Dolman expect company.

I hear what YOU are saying, but where's the evidence that this isn't what the majority wanted?

I didn't want Cameroon to run the country, and a huge majority of people I know didn't either but it's the ones you don't know about that could of affected the vote.

It did not matter what the majority, or otherwise thought. Bristol City broke with norms, and started building the stand before fans were allowed to see renders of the design. That went beyond unusual, it went beyond weird considering what Jon Lansdown stated.

You can argue and moan about it all you like, it's happening there's nothing you or I can do about it. I've wasted enough of my time trying to make a point but I guess you just want to argue your corner.

    So have fun complaining

    It is hardly debatable.

The design with safe standing was revealed at the open day during the summer of 2013. No images then appeare till November 2014, after Bristol Sport had already started building the stand. As you state there's nothing you or I can do about it, fans had no opportunity to influence the design, and there had been no research conducted anyway.

I will be attending the consultation next week. My hope is that Bristol Sport do finally show they are committed to listening to the fans and value supporters views.

Nothing to do with the debate but we have won 3-0 away tonight, we are 4 points clear at the top of the table and are having our ground re-developed, just imagine how the NON-LEAGUE team up the road must be feeling, let's be realistic, all points of view are respected but we are in a happy place..
