Have to agree with Commachio, quite possiably the most realsitic, head f***in beginning to a film and the awful part in it (the wife walked out) when the American G.I is slowly stabbed by the German solder whom they had let live eariler in the film. Whoa horrible.
is that the one that's like Rise of Nations? Start small and primitive then develop through the ages? If so, I'm green with envy!
Aye thats right. Its properly good. If you are a pc gamer steam have sale on atm. Games as cheap as 2quid.
I run my own gaming website with 42,000 members, so this is right up my street as well. Not keen on the NFS franchise I prefer simulation like Forza/GT5 to arcade racers, my favourite genre is RPG but turn based ones, some call them JRPG but not all JRPG are turn based so thats a misconception lol Final Fantasy VII type games, but you dont get them much anymore its all westernised oblivion crap these days. Only RTS game that i ever got hooked on was Settlers VII, easy to pick up and play, but bloody hard to master. Only sports game i liked was Sensible World of Soccer on the Amiga, hate Fifa/Pes just seems too slow to play to me, and dont like the view either (i know you can change the view its just not very good in any vew).
fell in love with RTSG when I played Age of Empires. Rise of Rome, plus the expansion pack, then AoE II Age of the Kings (the in-game music was superb!). Then got blown to kingdom come on Cossacks, being so used to AoE, didn't anticipate cannons! American Conquest, which I mentioned previously, was a nuisance, pesky tribes, raid after raid. Not a moment of peace, and I don't do negotiating. I remember reading an issue of PC Zone years ago and being impressed with the screenshots of Rome: Total War (I think that's what it was called). Never played it. Any recommendations (compatible with Windows 7, yet to get round to partitioning my HDD)?
COD:BO i find doesnt have enough spots to snipe from. I find they designed each map so that every point on the map has at least 3 ways to get to it. So you can't just claymore the entrance and snipe. You have a truck to jump up from, or another back door, or a bookcase you can climb up on to get to where you are. If your not constantly moving, you are dead. Even when you constantly move, the amount of grenades, claymores and rpgs is beyond a joke. COD:MW3 looks the **** though. Can't wait to get that one. Gears of War 3 is going to be awesome. I'm hoping they bring out another Rainbow 6:Vegas game, or somewhere similar. Loved the tactics involved with that, not just mindless running and shooting. I LOVED Age of Empires 2. Me and my old man would hook the comps up via LAN cable, and spend hours on that trying to kick each other asses. He still remembers one battle about 10 years ago where I managed to steal all the relics, and earn enough gold to buy stone to surround my island with a stone wall that he couldnt get through. Still accuses me of cheating to this day. Absolutely brilliant game
this should be your thread! The only gaming site I'm a member of is CVG.com, and I signed up eons ago so I've got no clue what my username and password is. If your site is fairly friendly / relatively wum free, can I join? question to everyone (apart from you, steve haha), is Fifa Street any good? Remember playing Urban Freestyle Soccer and really enjoying it (my username is partly inspired by the Street Ballers crew, they were a nightmare to play against, mind). And if you're dying to know, my username is also inspired by the track of the same name on NBA Live! 2003
never realy got into Assassins Creed, I love stealthy games like Thief and Tenchu, but AC was never stealthy enough for me, and the 1st one was just the same 6 missions over and over again.
I've watched the short films on youtube, looks like quite a franchise. Forgive me if I'm mistaken (never played any), it's basically Hitman in a robe a few centuries ago?
The total war series is awesome. Empire is probs my favourite. Cant beat a bit of muskets and cavalry charges. Rome is pretty good too. But i love civ. Lose hours to it
he does have a point though... I assume you didn't leave an inch of room on the shore for him to unpack his battering rams! Shame Imperial Age was the limit, he'd probably have loved to send some nukes your way
My favourite game franchise has to Halo. Fantastic and it took over my life for some time as well. Also really looking forward to Gears of War 3. Favourite ever game has to be Metal Gear Solid on the old Playstation, oh I wish that would come out on the Xbox 360. I saw the new X-Men last week and really enjoyed it, but i really like all them films, saw Transformers 3 last night in 3D and enjoyed that one as well, no plot as such but a proper Michael Bay film with lots of brilliant action, nobody can do an action film like Michael Bay can. Was really looking forward to Super 8, but was very dissapointed with it, I enjoyed it but not as much as I was hoping.
Yeah MW2 was so good, that i don't feel Black Ops shortcoming will affect sales, certainly i'll be counting down the days to it, it looks fantastic, they need to twae the multi player, we play 'bare bones' with no streaks and explosives, it improves the game ten fold at least. The inability to take cover from air strikes etc is just bollocks, on some maps it's pointless even touching the pad when there's summat i the air, as you are ****ed if you twitch!
** For all you lads on 360, i'm MagicMackem001, although i won't be on until i get the right bits to connect to a Spanish TV, which is proving more difficult than finding a virgin in the Bigg Market!
