Rom has been playing with injury but seems to have shaken it off if recent games to go by. I'm sure Costa will be on much higher wages and he's about 15 years older than Lukaku.
Up until the West Brom game last week, Costa had also been playing with an injury all season and Jose said he had hardly been training at all.
Jose says a lot of things. Before you thumped us 6-3 he said a couple of days before that Costa might make the bench and he ended up starting and playing 90 minutes!
He does, but there is no doubting Costa has been carrying injuries. That was evident way back at the tail end of Atletico's season which he then carried into the World Cup. Hope Lukaku does well for you but he's not in Costa's class yet.
Zero doubt about that. I do think Rom will be a top striker though in a few years. He's already got the goals and that's the hardest thing for a striker.
His attitude is very much "I want to be the best" Surely that's enough to be a star at any football club?
He wasn't prepared to show Jose or anyone else that he WAS the best. Just wanted to be inserted into the first team and for Jose to take it on faith that he would be the best. This could have been been detrimental to the team. Jose isn't going to risk the clubs season for the sake of one youngsters ego.
Not going to argue with what you've experienced but that isn't the version of Lukaku we've seen here.
I think the move is great for him. He can now get the minutes he needs every week to fulfil his obvious potential. However Jose is experienced enough to judge a player on what he sees in training etc without being unduly influenced by his good stats at Everton etc. He obviously didn't see enough in him that he'd be a regular with us anytime soon. And to be fair Jose is always about the here and now. Lukaku's at the right club, and one day if he's good enough he may get to come home
Y Agree. But Costa was unreal today. Nevwr realised how skilful he is, beat four players today Costa got 15 prem goals and no pens
Indeed, he was awesome! Without the ball he is constantly working for the team. When you see what the desperate clowns have spent on sick note & D-Minus doesn't make half of Costa. Warms the cockles of your heart doesn't it.
Must be, "he went past four people you know" . Wonder what he thinks of that Cabella fella and others who do it more than once a season. Costa is great at what he does, wanders about 10 yards from the area until he smells the chance of a goal then sticks it in the net like he is paid to do. They haven`t seen a decent striker for some time so you have to forgive them the exuberance
