1:30 Newbury - Rev It Up 12/1 eway Has a 5lb penalty for a last time out win at Sedgefield over 3m3f. Drops back to 3m for this race but it may turn into a slog which will suit this one. Unique De Cotte is certainly the one to beat with an unchanged mark for the win at Cheltenham - form that was franked by the 2nd. The reason I'm opposing is because the win at Cheltenham was after a break of 21 months and has only had a 12 day break and may 'bounce'. 2:05 Newbury - Coneygree 4/1 Purely taking a small chance on this one after seeing how incensed connections were with him being withdrawn on vets advice in his recent comeback.
Newbury 2.40 - lamool. I was at Aintree when this one won (very well) and went into my book as one to follow.
Musselburgh 110 mrs D Sayer does quiet well here and intrestingly does exeptionally well with Hughes , BORUMA should add to them stats tomorrow and 11/4 looks healthy
Had a long hard look at that race Morky - I liked Lamool and was impressive last time but I think Cantlow 12/1 is a very fair price based on past exploits. Seems to have lost enthusiasm but worth a small eway risk IMO. Good luck!!
MANY STARS 10-1 Doncaster 12:15 made a very pleasing seasonal debut with a gutsy win at Exeter. They upped him to 3m 6f against seasoned handicappers next time and it was all too much. He has been dropped a couple of pounds for that run and the drop back in trip combined with taking on fellow novices will give him an excellent opportunity to get back on track. 10's looks a steal and I reckon will go off half that or even less!
I am a massive fan of both these McManus horses as a lot of you will know but CANTLOW really did decline last season after winning this race very nicely and is still I think 5lb higher than he was that day. PENDRA is destined to go on to better things but I think this is just a pipe opener before sending him over to Leopardstown at Christmas for his real target!
All about Karezak for me at Newbury - on him ante post for the Triumph and the form of his hurdles debut could hardly have worked out better. Won't be much of a price but will hopefully take the next step towards Cheltenham.
Newbury 3.45 Days of Heaven 7-4 This horse was cantering over everything last time out in a decent enough race, came to the last however and landed on all fours and lost all chance. If jumping more fluently tomorrow will likely hack up.
Good day of racing today before the big 1 tomorrow. Short prices but im on multiples with these 4. SDR will be all the rage for the RSA after this, he is a big horse and will want further in future but should be good enough to win here. Coneygree is obviously a big danger giving connections reaction to the withdrawal last time. Newbury 12.25 - Karezak 2.05 - Saphir Du Rheu 3.15 - Thomas Brown 3.45 - Days of Heaven
Now then Sir Barney (and all other forumites) - let's be having your views on Mr Cameron's keynote speech on Immigration
Annie Power reportedly lame and misses her reappearance in Sunday's Hatton's Grace. Hopefully nothing serious.
Two pitiful Grade 1 Hurdles this weekend in terms of the Hatton's grace and Fighting Fifth, but little wonder when we had the races at Ascot and Haydock last weekend for exactly the same types of horses. Terrible calendar management really.
