I hate to break the chain of fuzzy warm feelings towards Wanyama, but is he the best player to try and shackle Y Toure? He's probably the one central midfielder in the league that is more of a lump than big Vic. The tenacity and trickiness of Cork might be a better antidote.

    Interesting stat from above:

"Since Wanyama arrived at St Mary's in July 2013, when he and Schneiderlin have played together, Saints have conceded only 0.7 goals per game and won 53% of their league matches.
Without one or both of them, they have conceded 1.6 goals per game and won just 33% of their matches."

And to TSS - I wouldn't say Top 6 is 'probable', still a long way to go. I would be absolutely ecstatic with top 6...

EDIT: Savage also says he thinks that we'll get 6 points from the next 9! <yikes>

See where your coming from but Big Vic is becoming more and more important to this team, I would suggest one of the first names on the team sheet?

I wouldn't disagree with that. What happens when Toure puts him in his pocket though? Not saying that will happen, but Yaya is a machine.

I think both should play, just as they should have against Villa. A lot of people were saying on here how we missed Davis, and we did, but Cork can easily play that role or more defensively if required. Cork, Puncheon and Clyne had may inspired attacking moments together a couple of years ago.

Just turned on Sky and caught the end of a trailer: And the next one up is the Champions at St Mary's. I thought I'd passed into a wonderful alternate universe.

Not sure where else to post, so here goes...

...Saints returned to the tradition of taking part in a 'Question of Sport' quiz at Mountbatten School against Hampshire Cricket on Wednesday night.

It's been rejected in the past and when accepted, some right duds sent along to fulfil the event - and lose more than they won.

However, not this year - and Saints actually won the quiz.

This year Saints were represented by Shane Long, Dave Watson, Matt Targett, Harrison Reed and player liaison officer Hugo Scheckter.

No lack of confidence on Man city forums, they think we have shot our bolt drawing at Villa and are going to piss all over us.

I enjoyed an article by Robbie Savage <yikes> I notice particularly his comment about the team's belief they could win even after going a goal down at Villa...of course, you would hope that they would, but it is important to shrug off a set back and carry on....there will be other games like that.

So does he think that City look like a third-placed team, with some of the abject performances they have put in this season?

The strange thing was that he did predict we would finish 7-8th as he said last weekend, but only after raving about us! He is making a mistake judging us on one game...evening match, Monday night after an international break. We still came out with a draw. I bet the team are fired up after that performance...won't be satisfied.
