I wouldn't expect to see my dad on here anytime soon which is a shame. He seems pretty adamant he's done with this site and so is Smug apparently. This site has been going slowly downhill for about 6 months now. That is why I also rarely post or read anymore.
Which is a great shame, but it only makes you, your Dad, and others the victims of others actions. There is loyalty and determination in all of us, but when it goes beyond the realms of logic then there is only one outcome. People leave of their own accord for whatever reason , they can return of their own accord as well.
People leave all the time, there has been hundreds through out the years. The forum always survives. Was browsing some of the old threads. Found this one, one of the first threads i replied to on this site. Not many of the old names on this thread left. Some of them were cracking poster as well. Honestly mate, we've had some cracking posters down the years. The first year or 2 we all came here was mental. Mass mag invasions were always funny. Who do remember most, that doesn't post now? For me it is probably Danny56. Oh and the old lot, would have torn dougie giro to shreds.
Your problem IMO, Comm, is that you want the board to be in your own 'image' where your interests & opinions are the most important. You want to dictate the direction of threads and attack other posters & even Mods if they don't 'toe the line'. Any threads you don't like receive irrelevant posts, photos, etc until you deliberately spoil them. It's not enough that there's a forum for football, and other general topics, you want one for posting your own personal interests. How did that go? You then invited your GC mates on here who have nothing to do with SAFC. How did that go? Then you campaign to have your Mag mates on here for 'banter'. How did that go? You've got your own way and now the board is quite poor in my opinion. You seem to believe that your endless 'cut&paste' threads copied from the media, or RTG, are better than original opinions from other people. You're quite correct that the forum will survive and I'm sure you'll believe your contribution is at the centre of it.
