Premier League Action returns on Saturday with Liverpool playing host to Stoke City. please log in to view this image v please log in to view this image Current Positions. Both teams are currently hovering in mid table with Stoke 11th on 15 points and Liverpool just behind in 12th place on 14 points. Stoke have been inconsistent with their away form this year, picking up a famous 1-0 win against City and more recently a 2-1 win away to Spurs, however have also drawn with QPR & Hull and lost to Sunderland & Southampton. Liverpool's home form is pretty much identical with 2 home wins in the league against Southampton on the opening day and Wet Brom however have also suffered 2 defeats against Villa & Chelsea and 2 draws with Everton and Hull. Current Form Liverpool go into the game without a win in 4 games in the league and 3 consecutive defeats, while Stoke have a win, a draw and 2 defeats in the same time frame. Both teams are struggling for goals this season, Stoke having only scored 13 goals in their 12 games and Liverpool notching only 15 in their 12. A lack of a real goal scorer I evident with Walters top scoring for Stoke with 3 and Sterling matching him with 3 for Liverpool. This game last season? Well it was a cracker, a 5-3 win for Liverpool with none other than Aly Cissokho opening the scoring with a 20 yards screamer (via a huge deflection). Luis Suarez then made it 2 before Crouch pulled one back for Stoke. Another former LFC player, Charlie Adam, then made it 2-2 with a brilliant long range shot. A penalty and another goal for Suarez made it 4-2 to LFC before Walters pulled another back to make it 4-3. Making his comeback from injury, Sturridge then finished the scoring in the 87th minute to make it 5-3 LFC and that's how the game ended. Team news - Liverpool Rickie Lambert will be hoping to keep his place after notching both his first League and CL goal for the reds in consecutive games and with Balotelli still struggling with an injury, Lambert seems certain to start up top despite playing the full 90 minutes midweek. Lovren will be expected to return after missing out in midweek while other changes may be made with another game approaching on Tuesday. Stoke Liverpool loanee Assaidi will be ineligible for Stoke however hasn't played much this year. Moses, on loan at Liverpool last year, will be out after picking up an injury. Former LFC player and cult hero Peter Crouch may start up front and hope to cause the LFC defence problems with his height, something they've struggled to deal with in recent seasons. While Charlie Adam will be hoping to show why Liverpool spent so much money on him 3 years ago and why his corners really are worth £10m. Prediction for the game? With both teams struggling and having identical records home and away, this could go either way so smart money is on a low scoring draw. P.s if we win I'll continue to try and do long and detailed match threads #nojinx
Is this a passing comment again or are you back this time? Hope its the later, your board needs reigning in
is ballo still injured? sadly he is another cert if fit, cant remember how long he is out for, not that it will make a dif anyway
Just looking at your current form record and it's truly abysmal when you disect it Out of your last 16 games in all comps; You've only won 4 - at home to WBA, the LC game against Swansea, that spawny OG fest at QPR and the last minute penalty gift against the mighty Ludogrorets You've lost 8 (which is the same number that you lost in the entire 13/14 season in all comps) and drawn the other 4. I knew you were struggling for form, but didn't quite realise it was as bad as that tbh.
