I'm gona be pushed for time on Sat, so I'm gona have to bring my car. I've not been up in my car so far this season but I hear you need a permit to park in most places near now. Where's best to park without one?? I'm not sure the name of the road but I've always parked on a bank coming towards the stadium near a Nursing home. It's about 10 mins walk to the stadium.
We park in these ally's marked with the red, we tend to get in about 40-30 minutes before kick off and always find a spot free. No permit needed. please log in to view this image Or if we know traffic is going to be bad coming in that way we'll park here where we've always found a space. No permit needed please log in to view this image Train for me this time.
Probably the wrong side of town for you Tees, but I park on the Newcastle road, 10 minutes away and no permit required
Thanks mate. I think it's Liburn road I usually park. I'll let u know when I'm up on the train next and we can have a few beers.
Newbold Avenue was pretty good. Good sized houses with decent gardens. Also at the top of it you have Thompson Park, so if you get that dog you want, there's somewhere to take it. Easy walk over the bridge to get into the city centre also. Can walk to the beach in about 20 mins. SOL round the corner. I liked the area, and would recommend it.
It's got a lot of Bungalows in the area which I prefer, I'm dodgy on stairs so they're better for me. Was looking at the rent prices and it's so ****ing cheap and there's been some nice looking places. Need to move within easy public transport to Chester le Street soon or later for my lass to start collage, I fancy Sunderland obviously.
Well i'd forget that area mate, it's miles from CLS.and if you don't drive, would be a right pain to get there. Shame really, cos it's a canny area. Obviously not as good as Fulwell or Seaburn, but they cost a lot more.
50 minutes on the bus marra, plus the 20-30 minutes to walk into town. The Bus she'd need from Darlington is nearly two hours with changes, plus the half hour to walk into town. Shaving an hour off her time. plus the saving in rent would be massive. That would work for us like.
In that case, i'd rcomend the area. For bungalows, i'd check out the roker area first though, (depends on budget) gis a shout if you need any help or info on the area you choose.
Thought so Tees, you could try the park and ride on Wessington Way, I am not sure of the times, but it is up near the A19
3rd time lucky in replying..****ing internet. Roker to town centre is a doddle, walk under 30 mins..loads of buses.
Tees, Wessington Way & Riverside Road both have the park & ride. You jump on the bus & it costs nowt. Or you could just park at Jerry the Jinx's.
I'm playing a gig ion Chester-le-Street tomorrow night but to make sure I'm there in time and can still go to the match I'm setting up early (2:30) then going to the game then going directly back to the pub!! Crazy running around but has to be done!!
Vince and Cest are from CLS..Should post a thread, hopefully they will read it, and may pop in to see you...worth a try.
