One things that really got me recently was asking to remove the kids show peppa pig as it was offensive to muslims. That as well as changing all meat in Subway to halal. I think halal meat is an atrocious way of killing animals.
I agree about halal meat...why should we change our stance on the treatment of animals. No one says they must eat non-halal meat...they have the choice to become vegetarian. And their stance on female rights also makes me very angry. The strange thing is that we have always had a Muslim community who lived here quite happily fitting in with our way of life...it is the more recent arrivals that are causing the trouble. I feel for the earlier immigrants as they must see the more militant arrivals as a threat to the life they have built here.
Very sad news re Phil Hughes - what an unlucky lad. Was an overseas player for Hampshire and considered a typical talented but tough Aussie cricketer. I remember his 160-odd run partnership with Agar in last years Ashes series - a record 10th wicket stand. As others have said above thoughts also for Shaun Abbott the NSW bowler involved - every cricketers worst nightmare. RIP Phillip.
A wonderful player Phil Hughes, and such a tragedy. Really devastating for the sport, his family, and the poor young lad who bowled the ball - he must be in shock.
If you've got a spare minute or two, watch this. KLM decided to take their customer service to new levels...
Not come across this story, but you know things like that are either made up or massive tabloid exaggerations to fuel public's fear of this type of thing? It's all designed to wind up Daily Mail readers, and people like my parents etc. It's generally part of some sort of news-creating agenda to negatively engage the public and create more news of that type?
The only thing offensive about Peppa Pig is the price charged for youngsters to see her at Paultons Pk. Seriously, Im boycotting all Real Madrid matches, As a Christian Im offend they have removed the cross (apart from any that involve playing against us next year )
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=world-football Pelle claims he is better looking than Ronaldo...no argument here. I have never once wanted to punch Pelle in the face...Ronaldo just looks annoying. Pelle also adds he is taller (ouch...that will hurt).
Craig Whyte arrested on arrival in Mexico...you have to be in serious trouble to make a run for South America. Guilty, m'lud.
You do need to remember, though, that this is a small group of muslims who put this pressure on, and Subway don't have to do it - but have obviously decided that the majority of their customers eating at these branches are muslims, and in terms of £ it makes sense to do this. If anything, it's Subway who is to blame. The problem with micro media these days is that something such as a Facebook campaign - which all people have the right to mount - by a handful of people gets picked up and made into a news story by (often) the Daily Mail, and it becomes a story about muslim society running wild over our traditions and culture. When in reality it's a tiny group of people with a minority cause roping in other people in the locality who probably don't care that much but find it easy to click a mouse cursor on a 'like' symbol (not on Facebook, so don't know how it works) - and the pressure on Subway's branches that serve a lot of muslims. Likewise, there is a group campaigning to boycott Subway's halal offerings. Whoever commands the most £ gets what they want. I'd wager that no one would have noticed this small group campaigning if Subway didn't decide to give into them. Don't disagree with what you say at all - I just find the tabloid picking up and running with irrelevant racial stories tiresome.
Yep, Phil Collins did it after robbing that train, and look what happened - he really missed life back home.
