May well be true but certainly a handy excuse for him.

200 million should buy a squad capable of coping with injuries and be higher than mid-table. Of course he's under pressure - he's at a big club, it comes with the territory. Can't image Real Madrid sitting mid table in La Liga and the manager not being under the cosh (if not sacked already).

What the f** is going on? the number of injuires suffered by the players is just unreal. This season could be a write off too.

To be fair, he's never been able to pick anything like a preferred back 4 as the number of injuries have been ridiculous.

1 billion should have bought Chelsea more than 3 league titles in ten years but it didn't. Money isn't the sole thing required to be successful.

Real madrid are the worst club to use when discussing managers under pressure. Theyre not normal.

Theres probably 200million worth of players injured. Not to mention the mess hes got to sort out after last season. Its no excuse. Its a massive hinderence for lvg and united.

We only have a 25 man squad. When injuries get into double figures for an extended period of time it becomes a problem for any club.

Ours is a bit of a pisstake though. And in all fairness, regardless of whether you think the league is poor or just more competitive, we are in touch with our target of the top 4 despite the crisis.

Imagine when they are all fit. Vast amount of quality options for van gaal. Im sure when he gets a full squad he will have a field day.

Don't take this the wrong way, but an opinion of an Arsenal fan would matter a lot more if we hadn't had to listen to four or five years of "If only RVP had stayed fit this year we would have won the league"...

Falcao has a new injury. He's made of glass.

Only his legs are made of glass.

Stick him in goal and De Gea up front. At least they will both still have full use of the requisite parts of their anatomy.

If Falcao don't return soon and see out the rest of the season uninjured no way are we going to buy him, rather we spend 44 million on a young class striker

This. Seems like a sicknote and age is not on his side. I'd be in two minds if he had one great season like RVP but I don't think it's worth the price tag.

This is getting like a farce. In twenty + years of the premiership, I have not seen any team having that level of injuries to key players and to whole sections of the team. LVG could use that as a reasonable excuse for not getting into the CL and I would agree. It looks like we will have to wait until next season to see what he can do -this season is looking like a write off.

Falcao unless he picks up very quickly would be a waste of money if he can only play a fraction of games and is not fully match fit.

We were assured RVP was injury prone. Couldn't he pick up a slight knock so he can spend a few weeks getting his head together? It's the only way he won't be an automatic starter!

Maybe when injuries start stacking up this much you have to start questioning the medical staff, training methods etc. It can't all be bad luck. For instance buying Falcao and then moaning when he is injured!?!?

To be fair we did only loan Falcao for precisely that reason. Fair enough about Jones and Evans being injury prone, but the number of freak injuries we've had all at once, like Rojo's shoulder, Blind's knee, and Carrick's ankle have been the real killers.

Not sure how training methods can be blamed for Blind picking up an injury on international duty, or Rojo dislocating a shoulder during a game or Shaw turning an ankle trying to avoid a late tackle or Herrera fracturing a rib during a game. I'm sure there are other examples.

I'm not saying they are responsible for every injury but bad luck can only cover so much.

Anyway, Shaw's ankles come under a lot of pressure, that's a lot of weight stacked on top of them, they were bound to go at some point ;)
