I reckon about 30m for a place on the board - might not get it back but I'd end up as a director of the only thing I have loved (that aren't my parents) for more than 7 years!! (My family being the last 7 years!!)

At an interest rate of 1% per annum £80m would make you £800,000 per year. let's say you maybe spend 30-40m which would leave you 40m invested in a high interest account (not sure what the interest rates are - let's say a maximum of 1.5% AER 0- this would leave you with 600k annual earnings before whatever tax. After the government took their tax you'd make, say, £60 a week!!! (probably, knowing this government!!)

I always see my self as quite prudent. I could get by happily with that much money and not feel obligated to spend for the sake of it. Living on 40-50quid a week has made me grateful for anything I guess ;)

Very good point Matty - no offence meant by my comments to those less fortunate than myself!!

And at least the £60 a week the government would give you from your £50m interest would be a £10 payrise!!

I guess you would need a couple of Rottweilers to look after your luxury home, suggest you try up the road at NE1, seems they have cornered the market in DOGS.

I would invest in building a new club house and training facility for the local Cricket and football teams and set up a trust fund to fund any aspiring young sportsman or woman in Washington to pay for the best possible opportunities to allow them to follow their dreams.

A second fund to pay a salary to any working class kid who is trying to break into the profesions but is blocked by the system of unpaid internships they have to go through even after getting a first class degree. This is very much the case in law. In some cases they have to work unpaid for a year or more. Unless mummy and daddy are rich you can not do it. So bring on the revolution lets turn the world upside down

The only investment I would make would be a box on the halfway line so I could invite you lot to join me at the first home game of the season when we stuff the mags :)

I'd spend half of it on malt whiskey and cocaine. The other half I'd probably waste.

I am surprised no locals have said they would help rejuvinate the city, I know 154 million wont go that far, but 30-40 million could build a new state of the art building on a crap brown belt site and get things moving.

Even Redcar are putting about 80 million into their seafront over the next year or 2, and seeing as Redcar is where most of the boro steelworks are situated, if they can do it, surely Sunderland can.

A total of £30m, funded largely by the Environment Agency is being invested to increase the towns sea defences as well as creating a unique and vibrant promenade which will attract visitors with a network of beautifully designed water cascades, sunshine traps, performance space and sheltered platforms to view the towns distinctive seascape. We hope you will love it.

and they are Building an 80ft high tower pier and thats costing 31million i believe, knocking down the old cinema, and buiding something on that.

Actually building some nice housing to re-generate the area is exactly what I would do, rent it all out and then make even more money :emoticon-0100-smile then one day I could become a billionaire and buy the club.

I would, and will, invest the cost of car parking space into the club, I like my seat, and nothing more. I would however set up a brand new forum called

    www.wealllovesydandsafc.com

You would all be banned from this forum and made to join my new one and would spend your days writting glowing love and admiration comments about me. ScattyMoo would be my serving wench and jersey my bed warmer. Shamless my knight and protector, BB my jester and cest would be keeper of the harem. Commo would recruit the maids and Dorset the lord high executioner of ex wives, he knows why.
