Meh, Gerrard and Johnson still playing. Zero creativity from our four midfielders and Lambert up top won't create much... I know we're away from home and all, but I don't understand the team selection in any way. It looks so negative and safe. BTW, it'll either be a double pivot (Lucas/Gerrard which we all know is useless) or Gerrard deep and Lucas further up (which we all know is useless).

What a strange team selection. Stelring the only one that will offer any sort of width so can only assume it's a 442 with a diamond. Midfield and forwards must look something like that with that team? Or it could be Henderson on the right & Sterling on the left with Gerrard in behind Lambert. I think that would be a little better. Doubt it though, the line up you mentioned is the most likely, and what I thought it was when I saw the team.
I'd be happy with the way I've mentioned. Lambert needs support up top which Stelring will offer. Gerrard further up the pitch is better as well, get him away from defensive responsibilities and let Lucas do the defending.
They've lined up as a 4-4-1-1 with a Gerrard off Lambert and the wide men as you say there Edit: whoops
