It's a short format and with a bit of luck in the draw you're in the latter stages before you know it.

The true test of where a side is at is their league position, where resource to league placing tells over a 38 game, 10 month season. Those with the most resources sit at the top and those with the least at the bottom, very few consistently out perform their resource level in the PL.
