you seem to be getting yourself in a horrible muddle. i'm not sure if this is because the very sight of me posting makes you wince (perhaps something to do with me saying grabban shouldn't be playing) or whether you are just trying (and failing) to be clever or what, but i'm finding its getting a bit boring now so i'll post this and then leave it. gary o'neil played for more than just qpr. he has played professional football for about 12 years, more often than not in the top flight. he's earned england honours at just about every level other than the full squad i believe. he's captained a couple of his clubs, he's a good midfielder and a decent character who plays a role which uses his passing and control, something we are lacking in right now, and as a freebie in the summer will i'm sure be viewed as an astute signing by adams. sadly injury disrupted his early days here but he really should be starting games now he's fit because he's more than good enough. i happen to rate many of our players and consistently say we've got one of, if not the strongest squad in the division - that's why i am shocked by how poorly we are doing at the moment and improvements right across the board, from management to players has to occur and soon, or this season will be a total failure.
If memory serves me correctly, when Pompey were last in the premier league, and won the FA cup, nearly everything went through O'Neil. I know Pompey fans rated him very highly at the time and were gutted when he moved from them to Boro in the mid 2000s, for around 5 million I think.
I don 't rate O'neil as highly as you do sorry, the guy is passed it and a billion miles away from an England call up he is a squad player in case we get injuries unfortunately he was the one that got injured. In his prime he may have been very good but realistically we can't judge him on his ability 5 years ago we have to go by his last season with QPR . Your views are not always facts Supers and we have players higher up the pecking order than him. The Grabban thing is just pointless baiting he is pretty **** and done nothing for 2 months but still by a large margin our second highest scorer. I would take the judgement of pro football players coaches and managers over yours Supers however mad that seems to you and your fan club of I agree posters without an opinion between them. You post a lot of sense but your opinions are written as Facts.
The guy is 31 and Pompy's player of the season 2006 he was brought in to fill in and give experience. If he is our best player we are in deep **** . Also the money spent on The Belgian was a massive waste as O'neil was a Bosman
But the money received from QPrcelona for Leroy Fer more than covered Ofoe's transfer? So the club accounts will still be in the black from that piece of business. Don't really get your point.
right, this really will be my last post on this! you're coming across angry that we've got a decent player on our books. who is saying o'neil is our best player? who is comparing him to odjidja-ofoe? nobody! they don't even play in the same position!! you're getting your knickers in a twist over something positive, a player who can pass the ball well and be a key player for us this season. in many ways he's a better version of david fox, something we have needed for a while. adams deserves credit for bringing him here, i just wish he'd play him more because when he has played we've passed the ball better. qpr fans wanted them to keep him this season because they knew how handy he could be to them. ps. grabban is absolutely terrible
He was good in 2006 and probably 4th best in his position. Grabban is absolute dog **** but scored more than Lafferty and Hooper combined 1 between them but they are way better . Fully understand . O'neil should take the armband after Martin's 200th appearance even though he is older and has less than 5 appearnces. Silly me for not agreeing but now i see where you are coming from. I agree
SN 23 you are starting to sound like a little boy stamping his foot because nobody will listen to him. You are better than this. Did you not watch O'Neil when he played for us a couple of games back? He was our most settled player by a country mile, and please don't try to belittle other posters because they agree with Supers rather than you!
I'm done with this place a majority have written off our manager and players already and 1 or 2 insist they could do a better job picking the side/formation/captain. Maybe they are right ?. I'll leave you all to keep slagging off everything this place is depressing. Enjoy .
Did we not threaten from the corner kicks he took - I seem to recall Jerome scored from one of them. When was the last time you saw a City player deliver a decent corner kick? I don't know whether your gripe is with O'Neil, QPR, Portsmouth, Superman or the world in general but it's going round in circles and getting tiresome.
so let me get this straight, you are flouncing off in a strop because i, one of the posters who has serious misgivings about the current manager, has PRAISED one of his signings? hokey dokey. did you have a liquid lunch by any chance?
O'Neil is a cracking signing and I agree he should be starting every game when he's fit. So what if he's 31? Hardly past it for the role he plays and he can play that role for another 2/3 seasons if he keeps himself fit, which I'm sure he will. He'd walk into any other team in the Championship, no question. Not really sure where you're going with this one 23 if I'm being honest
