also we sent wisdom and ibe out on loan, they really any worst than what we currently have? and we didn't pay stupid fecking money to get them either
I kind of feel the same way with Coutinho too - seems very much a fans favourite (and I understand as well, he has great ability). But how many times did he surrender procession on Sunday and not chase back? It was ****ing unforgivable imo but has gone under the radar cos it's easy to blame Skrtel, Ming, Johnson and Gerrard instead
Ibe I can understand as that is also a position we may strengthen soon as well. Wisdom though could have been used. Manquillo was cheap though so can't complain too much there.
Think Coutinho is two fold. One is his options around him are ****ing limited of late as last year and the previous he had Studge and Suarez bombing around and the link was there. SEcondly, it is doing a job that is maybe not right for him or his best role possibly. Think with Coutinho you need to have steel around him to really make him pop and if we aren't playing Can and Lucas ( which in a balance sense would be pretty decent midfield) then he can't take the risks/takes the risks and gets burned.
Coutinho will concede possession because that's the nature of his role - it's to attack, try new things, create. Coutinho at 22 is better than Lallana at 26. Coutinho takes on players, takes players out. Not knocking Lallana because he's a decent player. But issue is that we spent £25m and Rodgers expected him to come into the first team and enhance us. Lallana, at best would have maintained our performances. For £25m, we should have bought players who would have ehnanced the first team. Same applies to Lovren. We spent £45m on these two 'first teamers' who have not improved us at all.
ibe.... well his main issue was he can't score in a whorehouse and shots were awful. however by buying markovic we'd wasted our time. ibe is better than markovic. Wisdom i feel rodgers doesn't like for some reason unfathomable..... manquillo is cheapr but not secured long term and i feel we are only going to end up someding 15mil on a right full next year as a result. we've sent teixteria out on loan too... again at a normal club all three loans make sense, increase experience and player vlaue and we get back good players.... at our club however we've dross i nthe suad and buy more dross and end up just wasting our time.
true but v palace it was even worse... he was one his own with maybe sterling somewhere to the right and marked and lambert standing up top like a lump so he'd got two banks of 4 in front of him and it was impossible on his own. we are just fing it up.
I agree... lallana is only good in and around the box for 1/2 passes... he's not that fast, not that tricky and is just ok. coutinho is a hell of a lot better player.
Texeira isn't good enough for our first team yet. He's been ok at brighton, started well but like most young players has been very inconsistent. He needs a good couple of season loans at lower clubs to work on that
yeah but has he been worse than markovic? thats the only point. at a normal club these loasn make sense like i said, right now lfc have lads i'd not give a game in league 2.
what league are brighton in at mo? as surely we want him championship or better if he is going to learn anything, he had better than that, from where we took him from originally, so needs to learn the hard way to succeed for me. if Brighton are in championship, carry on still prefer him at a prem club though.
Players will lose the ball of course, especially if you trying killer passes etc. But witnessing the opposition come away with the ball 3 yards from him and to just start walking back is not acceptable.
They're in the championship tyvm! They finished 4th and 6th last 2 seasons but after selling their best players last winter and this summer they're struggling and are 18th. Just signed Darren bent on loan for a month today.... That's how bad things have got
how odd, didn't know that, or prob just forgot. used to keep track of how sami was doing when in germany, where we got Yesil from when he was manager.
I know.. leverkusen are now top of their CL group as well... not assured yet but thats a big turn around from last year so changing manager did help them.... hyppia took a big risk going to brighton.
