"Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers insists he doesn't need to buy in January.Last season's Premier League runners-up spent £113million in the summer but many of the new players have failed to settle."It (buying new players) is not something I am looking at," the 41-year-old said. "After the weekend, the focus was not to dwell on that. We have to learn from that and try and get a result here."I just need to get us back to a level of confidence that allows you to perform. Losing can be the making of you. You learn from it. That is what we are aiming to do." So thats okay then.
Think about it, what good would it do the players if he said we need to buy in January cos this aint working out Think of the media storm behind a comment like that as well.
No Rodgers. The players who have let us down are the existing senior players, and the new senior players you personally wanted (bar Mario).
Immediate sacking. for me this is him saying i've no money. Ergo for me we can call the season now. LFC 17th in table if lucky, lose in qf to bournemouth in legue cup. finish 4th in CL group and hopefully lose in 3rd rounds of fa cup to a minnow.... Or we sack the gobshite and put in tobes as LFC manager cos even tobes working his hardest to ruin us couldn't do a better job for tobes
Think its pretty obvious despite Studges injury that we would be a striker short. Publically saying we need a new GK may give Migs a kick up the back side. Whats the harm in giving the players a shake up. They clearly don't give a toss at the moment.
Rodgers is a disgrace. He's signed two good players who actually notably improved the first team - Sturridge and Coutinho. However, the former he knew was made of glass and hasn't played in months this season, the latter - despite obvious skill - is very lightweight and still young. For me all his other signings are borderlines or fails. I can see a scenario where the owners have said to him, we gave you the money in summer, you bought dross so you have made your bed. No more money because our trust in your abilities/the 'project' (whatever that is now) has dwindled, but you get till summer to see what you can do with the sewage you've paid crude oil prices for. If it doesn't meet our requirements it's see ya later.
that's fair enough but we all know it'll be for one match by now and that come the Leicester game it'll be back to the usual ****e.
Has he been told there's no money? Is he just trying to reassure the players he has faith in them? Does he really belive that? I hope it's not the last one.
IMO he needs to sign 1 or 2 players. Another forward wouldn't go amiss. Still puzzled as to why you passed on Remy, would suit your style of play far more than Balotelli. Remy is far more similar to Sturridge than Balotelli, who is a lazy little scrote.
Our squad clearly has holes and the players know it. If players like Balotelli, who is not good enough now, cant handle the competition then we should forget them and move on. That tells me Rodgers is not being allowed any money to spend. Especially as he has already admitted that Balotelli was signed to fill a hole after Suarez left (due to a lack of depth0.
It tells me we have bought a s**t load of players in this summer so telling the world we need more in January would be disastrous
This is on the gossip section of the BBC Website... "Liverpool are ready to sign Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech, 32, Porto striker Jackson Martinez, 28, and Norwich winger Nathan Redmond, 20, in a £47m triple deal in the January transfer window. (Metro)" Someone is telling porkies!
That's precisely it,I don't think he's saying we won't do business in Jan.,he's just not being drawn in to the debate right now cos' there are more important matters to deal with. Pretty sure we'll be seeing 1 or 2 in.
good point bit early to be saying things like we need to buy in jan, esp when we need the ****e we currently have to try and give us something to shout about in europe first, and hopefully climb the table!!
i reckon he's worried and thinks if he stokes the fires and then fails to get someone he'll be for it. its a piss poor way to do it.
