I'm sure there will be others on here that are fed up of paying through the nose for razor blades so I want to know if any of you guys can recommend a decent electric shavers? I preferably want a cordless version that still offers a wet shave. Bare in mind I also need to use it on my head too!!! I'm looking at this one at the minute (mainly because of substantial discount that will be offered tomorrow morning) please log in to view this image http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...33GGMJD5K&pf_rd_i=161428031&pf_rd_p=560262147
Got a years old philishaver that I've lost the circular blade head for but still use the close clippers head for getting the beard down to very short stubble if I want it. Currently sporting a tailored full beard though so no need for it. Wet shave lower part of neck and little sections under bottom lip where there's not much growth, trim rest with scissors. If I wanted a clean shave I would always go wet shave with a decent razor. Electric ones just don't get the job done and never give you that total smoothness. I have a really nice german traditional razor but it burns like **** to use so tend to stick with a Gilette Mach 3. I look in the supermarket for discounts on the plastic disposable Mach 3s... you can pull the razor off the body and attach them to the decent metal body of the more expensive version. That saves a lot if you bulk buy when reduced.
I use a Gillette Fusion at present but four blades for £12 is a bit steep, especially when I shave the beard and head so get through them quite quickly. Four blades would only last me about a month!!!
They can get to **** with those, so expensive and absolute **** as razors. Who needs four/five blades (if you count the precision one on the back)?? I still use an original Mach 3 from a few years ago. I'm just waiting for the day they phase out the blades totally, they no longer sell them in the cardboard packs. I get quite bad razor burn/rash on my neck easily so am very picky about my razor. Can't use Wilkinson Sword for example, every one I've tried has cut/irritated me to **** on the neck. How is it for you apart from arse raping your wallet every month or so??
The razor is fantastic. I used most types over the years and this is easily the best. I like Wilkinson swords for their flexibility etc but can't use them as they're not as sharp so takes more strokes and they get clogged up really easily, not good when shaving the head. I used to have a Mach III and loved it at the time. Didn't realise blades were still available. How much are they nowadays?
Probably why I don't like them Pack of 3 disposable Mach 3s (can pull the actual razor head off and stick it on your better razor) was just under a fiver on offer in Tesco tonight. Have seen the five packs for the same price recently so didn't pull the trigger tonight... got three brand new razors to get through till I needs anymore
For a full clean shave, tis true. If you want them to trim beard down to a certain length etc then they can be useful, also good to clean up sideburns and around ears (clipper head, not circular one, of course)
As a former Gillette employee I can absolutely confirm that all and I mean all updates since Mach 3 came out are total fads. Fusion is just totally unnecessary and the above is right get the disposable version and take head off plastic handle or look for 25 pack bulk buy pack in boots etc. Winthe is right you can look for that bulk pack out there and get the 25 blades for like £30 or less
£100 RRP . Down to £26.99 there so yeah very good deal, plus it's waterproof so you'll be ok using it as a vibrator up the back door which i know is why you've really bought it
Razor blades are a massive rip off, one of the biggest cons out there, both in the 'amazing new features' they always bang on about and what they charge for them, don't know how they're allowed to get away with their prices. It's just a sharpened bit of metal, how the hell do you make it any more hi-tech or whatever? Sadly they know they can charge pretty much whatever they want as blades are essential for blokes who want/need/have to shave.
gillette put a battery in the mach 3 to call it the mach 3 turbo.... or was it power... anyway the real reason they did that was not to give women a thrill while shaving their nether regions... no it was to prop up duracell sales (duracell were part of gillette) Result was you couldn't feel how bad the shave was... I deffo agree. ok 2 or 1 balde disposables are not great and the wires wilkinson sword put on their was **** but the mach 3 was the best and frankly the fusion is not that good. If you guys look seriously you will find those big backs of 20 or 25 baldes out there. They are sold in europe for sure. They want you to trade up and trade up to pay ever more. But think on it.... if you could do the 3 blades for the same price as the now 5 blade thingy it shows how much profit there is in it look for these please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image What i'd say to you is this; if you've a good local pharmacy... one that does all the offers and extras then go in and ask them to go find form bulk packs like this. I bought last one in a chemist for half price... think on that. 20 blades for <20 quid. here's an online price http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gillette-Ma...=UTF8&qid=1417000322&sr=8-4&keywords=gillette thats 14 blades for 20 quid = £1.42 per blade so if you get 2 weeks or 3 weeks out of it.... thats not too shabby at all. or http://www.amazon.co.uk/GILLETTE-MA...UTF8&qid=1417000402&sr=8-20&keywords=gillette thats 12 for 12... or £1 for a blade... c'mon can't say fairer than that to you guys seriously get loking guys. cos the more of you buy the stuff the more that have to keep making these. NEVER NEVER buy a 4 pack.
F'n hard man. pigs bristle brush and soap and all i bet.... I wish i was that hard. you are right mind... disposable crap makes us all just cash points for corporations and the milk us like cows for all they can.
Yes man, this in spades. That's the great razor scam right there, try to convince you to try out the latest and greatest with special offers then hit you with full price once you 'can't live without it'. I see those real big packs with the razor body too in Tescos sometimes but always get put off by the £20+ price tag, even on offer, but since you put it that way will most probably get one next time they're in. Never seen the 20 pack just razors. Those disposable ones are the ones I was on about, every couple of weeks you see them reduced.
I stopped wet shaving about 3 years ago and will never go back. Apart from the fact it takes twice as long, I don't get the appeal of being clean shaven and it gives me rash on my neck
We have a winner, a real man enters the fray. Pipe down you electric shaving fannies, this man knows what needs to be done with his bristles
