If we play Lucas and Can it would be a good start. Sort it Rodgers! <ok>

I agree this could work. Coutinho playing freely in front.

  8. If we played Can and Lucas holding, would you pick Sterling and Suso (if we had him) either side of Coutinho in a 4231...? Means Hendo misses out too but would give a lot of creativity and movement in the attacking third. Assuming every is fit and available:

    Migs
    Flanno - Toure - Lovren - Moreno
    Lucas - Can
    Sterling - Soutinho - Suso
    Sturridge

PS...I may have called him Soutinho intentionally <whistle>

I fear using Henderson and Can like that will = Gerrard and Lampard.

  12. Agree with that completely. Putting Hendo and Can in the same side requires a recognised DM in a 433 / Diamond system.

Let them both go forward at certain points, but make sure they know that when one goes, the other sits.

  15. Worked with SG and FL. they only had poor managers such as Sven and Capello try to control them though <whistle>

Put Hendo and Can together could work because they possess more intelligence than Stevie and Lampard.

Yep, I know I will get stick for saying that but Stevie does not have game intelligence - he wants to play one way which is fast and direct.

Can is certainly more tactically and positionally aware, in fact a lot of foreign youngsters are because that's built into their training.

Henderson and can aren't two already star players with big egos who have a certain way to play and can't chane. Hendo and can are young enough to adapt and learn

Plus Stevie has never been a top class CM. He was good but his best position was CM. He doesn't have the discipline to play any deeper than AM.

Lampard is better as an AM so you couldn't have the two playing that role. It was quite obvious that the two couldn't play together.
