Interesting subject about celebrity. I've just texted my 99 year old Mum if she has heard of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison or Ringo Starr. I didn't mention the Beatles. My guess is she'll remember who the first two were easily. Possibly all four. She never listened to pop music. Her father [My Grandpappy] was a church organist and he taught her the piano. That's as far as her musical enjoyment went.
I've just looked up Ivor the Engine. For some reason I thought I was too old for it, but I thought I remembered seeing the episodes as a wee youngster. Turns out they were originally made in 1958, but revived in 1975 with loads of new episodes in colour. That explains it. LTL, you've inspired me to close a mystifying chapter in my history .
Was in the library doing work while listening to Blank Space by Taylor Swift on repeat via headphones. Had to fight very hard the urge to shout out 'And you love the game'
Hope you had it turned down low....the desire to kill people who subject me to thump thump of bass can be nearly overwhelming.
There are people who are incredibly cat-like and there are people who walk into furniture. You're probably just one of the clumsy ones. Get it checked out by a doctor if you want to be worried by it, but I'd just watch where you're going. Maybe you were overly protected when you were in your baby years..?
He said headphones, Fran. There's a clue there. Headphones don't produce bass for anyone bar the wearer. Not even excellent sounding ones.
Could be a long evening on the turntable. Just having a beer or two, and listening to I Talk to the Wind, with Greg Lake and King Crimson. And it sounds bloody gorgeous. The wall on which the prophet stood... Epitaph next.
