Rodgers sack watch

Discussion in 'The Premier League' started by Hoddle is a god, Nov 25, 2014.

  1. I think it's time that someone started this thread. It's obvious the bloke hasn't got a clue, and that it's only a matter of time before he gets the boot. Even Mousers are, now, saying he has to go.

    What do you lads think?

I reckon there is a very real possibility that he could be gone by the New Year, but will probably be given until the end of the season. After all, "king" Kenny was told to "walk alone" at the end of a season, and I think the same courtesy will be extended to Rodgers.

Having said that, Kenny was (before his fall into ignominy) a 'Pool legend, so the club had to be sensitive to Mouser loyalty. The same doesn't apply to Rodgers, who is probably in the same boat as Roy Hodgson. You may all remember that "gentleman" Roy was forced to "walk alone" halfway through the season. It was utterly humiliating for England's No.1 coach.

I'm interested in your views, lads.

PS: Could I, please, ask, that this thread not be used for the purposes of wummery. Serious debate only, please, lads.

Perfect timing Hiag, the Liverpool board have given the proverbial backing which means at the present rate of descent it will be early January unless things miraculously get better. :)

  6. Thanks, mate. I knew I'd be able to count on your support.

By the way, you might be interested in this:-

When you get someone as well-respected around the world as Phil Neville for his unbiased and shrewd insights into the game telling it "how it is" about 'Pool, you know something has to give.

  9. Poch is going nowhere, son. Once we've had a good clear out of those players who seem unable or unwilling to abide by Poch's philosophy, the mighty Spurs juggernaut will, once again, roar along the highway to success.

But that, with all due respect, is not what this thread is about. It's about Rodgers, and when he will get the sack. Please, may I ask you to stay on topic. And no wumming.

You should've included a poll for his inevitable replacement, HIAG. Is it too late to add one now?
Tony Pulis, perhaps? He did very well at Palace.

  13. I thought about that, PNP. No reason why it shouldn't be the subject of a fresh thread, of course.

I would have put money on Moyes, but he's gone to a bigger club, and I can't see him leaving to go to 'Pool.

They could always try to talk Hodgson back. No way would 'Pool be in the state they are currently in under his astute leadership.

Indeed, I have much preferred Phil over Gary any day and I'm of that opinion as you are that something could well give.

Great thought, knowing Liverpool of late it wouldn't surprise me if they sounded out Guus Hiddink.
