I think what people say to let of steam is often different to what they really think. If Rodgers was sacked today I think all of us would be disappointed and it would not be what any of us really wanted or thought was best.

if he doesnt get us some sort of european football this season, i think he will be a gonner personally, cant see how spending £100 mill and not even getting europa football can be justified, and then to be honest not sure how i feel about it, depends if he went and who we got instead.

clubs have got rid of good managers, and done better out of it.

Only way they would be rid of Rodgers is if Klopp was truly available I think. If not, I think he stays.

Still, interesting as he has seemingly gone from not afraid to make big calls, changes, quick subs or changes in tactics when it goes wrong, to keeping the same ****, subbing at exactly 70 and 80, etc. Gone very predictable which is not like him at all.

... and not one of them mentions sheep I'm sure <whistle>

I agree with what you've said and I add that I've never been comfortable with Rodgers but like you am willing to give him a chance to improve. Any manager could have got 2nd last year with Suarez and Sturridge his biggest test is in his refusal to recognise his mistakes. Goodness knows Rafa was stubborn but he had the pedigree and experience to work it out - Rodgers has neither and it's showing!

Agree with Bluff - unless a top quality replacement is lined up, Rodgers be going anywhere.

Read somewhere that Klopp, De Boer and AVB were the first choices ahead of Rodgers originally.

Could be. Pelligrini was meant to be lined up before Hodgson..... whoops. If you look out there though in the coaching world, apart from Klopp who is POSSIBLY available, who is out there? I like BR, I like the way we were playing or trying to play, but I think he shot himself in the foot a bit with the players brought in. No way can lambert, balotelli, or Markovic press from the front line like Suarez and Studge did. Should have bought players of that ilk.

Part of that is smartly too, Borini works his ass off but doesn't do it smartly I feel. Also there is that quality gap of the pressing, creating the turnover, and then doing something with it as well.

Klopp, De Boer or Capello for me.

Capello currently working in Russia - I think he would jump at the chance to get out. Problem will be his mega wages. But as a short term - 12-18 month solution, there is no one better.

Bielsa is mental and I'm not convinced. Lost his way over the past few years as well.

And it's as simple as that really.

In the home match against Madrid we gave no yellow cards away, just shows we have no fight in us. Against teams like that you need to pick up cards and fouls to stop play, if you believe that you can play toe to toe with the best then you better back it up otherwise you will get run over.

Even the best teams in the world have those types of players (Busquets at Barca, Schweinsteiger/Alonso at Bayern/ Kroos/Pepe/Ramos at Real).

If the football being played atm is terrible then the whole team needs to be looked at, I hate scapegoating as we seem to always discuss Gerrard or Johnson but atm the whole starting eleven should be worried that their place is in jeopardy.

    Ming atm just looks lost
Moreno makes silly mistakes at crucial times
    Skrtel just looks headless
Lovren looks completely out of his depth
Manquillio has done well but he's still at fault for goals being conceded
Gerrard looks out of sorts, no confidence after the slip and World Cup
Allen does nothing unless players around him can make up for him
Coutinho wants to fancy skills instead of giving strikers the ball
Sterling tries to much and ends up doing little
    Lallana looks light weight
Balotelli gets no support but the balls he gets he does nothing with it

That's basically our starting eleven and they all are a fault toward them, we can't drop them so what players are the most disruptive towards what we want to do?

Skrtel, Ming, Gerrard and Lovren. Johnson is a goner as soon as Flanagan is back and I won't write of Balotelli till he gets a ball passed to him in a good area.

    So what's the answer?

Bring in Lucas who will pick up yellow cards and fouls, he may lack technical ability but will give us an actual defensive midfielder.

Bring Can in and have him with Henderson (who I forgot to add in the other bit. ATM he trying way to hard) and make them both box to box midfielders, that will give us support through out the midfield.

Have Sterling/Coutinho/Lallana as a CAM and have them roam wherever and actually create chances for our strikers.

Have Borini or Lambert play along side Balotelli, Lambert will work with Balotelli, they both won't be statues. Borini will run his socks off and Balotelli needs to get in the box more.

Toure and Sakho need to come in, especially Sakho, we need to make it known that he is our starting man and give faith in him.

Football is such a easy game and Liverpool are struggling to grasp the concept of it.

I wouldn't say a ****ing word either if I was raising the already record breaking ticket prices by the exact amount of money I was stealing from the club <ok>

You do realise that this will never happen. If Rodgers did that he will have admitted that he was at fault for buying a poor CB in Lovren and that he was guilty of not replacing a poor partnership at the back. The thing with Skrtl the other CB is his constant grappling of the players -at corners and of shirts outside the box. As Jamie C said, he has dome this since day one and now the refs are onto him. He will cost us many goals this season.

I think his general lack of awareness, positioning, ability to cover partner are worse than grappling with opponents. <ok>

here is something that many will not like but what the Rodgers of last year and previous would have at the least tried and been dynamic with. Why not 3-5-2? When all fit, why not Lovren, Skrtel, Sakho with Moreno/Manquillo/Johnson/Enrique on the wings? Gives Balotelli a partner, keeps three in the midfield and we are already conceeding goals like a mother ****er so why not? A little more defensive structure with 3 CB's who won't fly forward and tell Gerrard to actually tackle in front of the back 3.

Just seems ol Rodgers is playing it safe lately but even that is not really working out.

Wouldn't playing with those three just lead to 50% more confusion at the back than playing two of them?

It would be strange but could work. Sakho and Lovren are naturally aggressive so they would step out, but Skrtel would be sweep up as he is a deep lying centre back.

Problem is, Skrtel is very selfish and has no interest in covering/sweeping up after anyone but himself.

Stick to a back 4 but with competent defenders and with a competent DM, and we'll see a massive improvement.
