As we all know 2 weeks ago the R's were fined £20k by the FA for failing to keep their players under control whilst asking a legitimate question as to why what seemed at the time a perfectly good goal was dis-allowed....we know now that the Ref Mike Dean was correct but the situation was not helped by the fact that the linesman didn't raise his flag to indicate that something was wrong, instead he conveyed the double kick over his radio link.....and Mr Dean chose to include in his report how we surrounded him to question him.

Anyway this weekend there were 4 instances of blatant cheating by players, Moses at Stoke not for the first time this season took a dive trying to win a penalty and Barkley at Everton took to the air when Kevin Nolan wasn't even in the same postcode......Unfortunately Clattenburg brought the Berkley dive and somehow Moses wasn't booked. Then Tomkins from WHU was pushed on the shoulder and went down holding his face trying to get Mirelles sent off and Mertsacker from Spurs went down as if shot and succeeded in getting the Hull lad dismissed......

Plus we had Little Jack Wilshire shove his head in to the big bad Belgian Fellani right in front of a certain Mr Mike Dean (see above) who instead of sending him off as he would have done if it was say Joesph Barton doing the same thing, tells him to calm down......

So do we hold our collective breath waiting for the FA to take action against these cheats and thugs or is it just wishful thinking that something will be done for the greater good by the people who oversee the game?

We're just l'il old QPR, easy meat for the FA beaks, woe betide they annoy any of the "big boys" in case they pick up their ball and go and play on their own

    Great post Tramore.

I'm not sure that Wilshire got booked did he? Quite astonishing when you consider how Dean was waving yellow card's at our players like a geisha girl with a fan when we played City. He should've been up on an FA charge of not being in control of his cards.

It's no wonder that fans are turning their back on football.

Think you mean Vertonghen from Spurs, Mertesacker plays for Arsenal.

    Not really, agree in general.

As Bruce said after our match people watch the Premier League because of the pace, power and general physicality of the league and when you see a 6 foot 2-3 inch centre-half rolling around after a nothing incident it is embarrassing. Tomkins was even worse, almost as bad as Rivaldo in 2002.

And the likes of Rooney and Wilshere definitely get away with stuff our lads don't, can't see it ever changing. The problem lies with the refs, they can send off a City or QPR player and no-one will bat an eyelid. Send off Rooney/Wilshere and it's under scrutiny all week. Can't see it changing anytime soon.

Vertonghen has a lot of previous for embaraasing play-acting.

For my money that sort of behavior is far more responsible for bringing the game into disrepute than any supposed "crowding of the referee" which QPR and Sunderland were fined for recently. But until the FA make the step to take retrospective action against play-acting (which they won't) it's only going to get worse, and will become even more of a stain on the game.

    Great OP!

We've had lots of robust debates on this forum over many issues but one thing that unites most, if not all of us, is that we get incensed by injustice (albeit interpreted through our own world view).

There is a gross injustice here.

It would be wonderful if your owners decided to spend a few quid on legal fees to gain some justice in this unjust system.

Inclined to go with this one. The team showed indiscipline and the club has been punished for it. Fined less than a third of Joey Barton's weekly wage. And less than Ferdinand was fined for a single word.

Learning - no more than 3 players should be screaming bile into the ref's face at any one time.
