  3. Did you see the **** in inherited? We had Carroll, Downing, Adam, etc, they wouldn't have even made the Everton team FFS <laugh>

Or are you saying Kenny built a great squad...? <whistle>

Ah, the Liverpool excuse that never gets old.

Out of interest, when was the last time you had a manager who didn't inherit a load of ****? <whistle>

  6. I was taking the piss <ok>

TBF though, its true. It fits in with Jimmy's second place theory; we get a manager that is seemingly doing well and gets a second place finish but rather than pushing on they decide to increase numbers and buy the wrong players. Houllier, Rafa and now Rodgers. If the squad was good then the chances are the manager would have maintained their job as they would have got better results.

When was the last time we had a squad that would be considered nice to inherit? Not just when a manager took over either.

That Villareal side were fantastic they reached the SF and the following season broke the stranglehold of the big 2 by finishing 2nd in La Liga.

Your lack of knowledge is shocking tbh

anyone can have one season wonders where the top 2 fail to impress so i was told, even wining the tile, which is better than 2nd :bandit:

you did get shafted on that tie though to be fair, but then that's what city and us are currently going through with the seeding ****e and getting harsher ties than the others, we lost our credibility in europe (ie out of it for 5 yrs) city have to earn it.

5 English sides in the comp, warm balls sees Everton end up with the toughest side they could have drawn and then they wheel Collina out of retirement to officiate. He strikes off a perfectly good away goal and then promptly slides back into retirement. Shafted? You ****ing bet.

    yeah we know that tobes,

trouble is the rules was only 4 teams could qualify from this country, and the defending champions had a right to defend their title, just happened to be your team that got shafted nothing, to do with us.

you got shafted by the tie, no question, and it was obvious to all what was happening( good luck proving that one with how corrupt eufa and fifa are anyway), but you was like we currently are in seen as amateurs in europe, so had no credibility to work with, and eufa wanted the defending champions to go through more i reckon, as its all about the money with them, and we are a bigger pull than you in europe.

I know you've said it so many times before but it has to be said again because it's so obvious. We have a tendency to buy a lot of squad players rather than a handful of good players who can improve the first team.

Buy first team players, and then the first team players of last season then become squad players. That's how you build a quality first team and squad.

that seems to be obvious to everyone apart from sadly the people at the club who count, and have the pennies to spend.

some of our buys, if not most of them, have NOT been an improvement on what we had, and i am even talking about the fecking bench ffs.

  17. Yep. **** improving the squad, improve the first team and the squad will take care of itself. We need to get rid of the sentimental **** too.

Funny thing is - the young players we signed i.e. Sturridge, Coutinho, Can, Manquillo, Moreno and Can have actually improved our team IMO.

The ones who were expected to come into the first team straight away are the ones who have disappointed Lovren Lallana Balotelli Lambert (less so for Lambert).
