Like sucking the piss stains out of a geriatric's kilt. Give me Bushmills ten year old plus any day over that jock OAP cock/fanny excretion
Ordered a new pair of squash trainers this morning partly because the really old, ****ing stinking ones I was using are worn out (slipped over on court the other day cos the soles have smooth patches on them where there should be tread) and partly as a well done present for getting my second straight promotion. Into the heady heights of league 6 now. They are adidas ones and they are mostly white with ink blue and fluorescent yellow sections. Just hope they fit, one peeve of buying online is not being able to try **** on.
My eldest daughter has her final parent's evening at Merchant Taylor's this evening. Cue the appearance of Mr and Mrs Jamie Carragher Not sure she'll be on top form after events at the weekend
Nah. You can't find the batarding things in any sports shops round here. Sports Directs everywhere these days which are gash for anything but leisure wear and maybe footie/gym stuff. Anything too 'specialised' and you're fooked.
Used to work in a small family sport shop that had been around for 20 odd years. Made load of money just by offering alternatives to the usual stuff that all the big ones do. Used to sell decent tennis rackets and trainers as well as cricket stuff. Was the only one near the centre of town so used to get so much custom from anyone that wanted anything sport related other than football. Had decent boots only, none of this pink and orange crap. Kelma, Joma, Puma Kings & World Cups etc.
Very few and far between those kind of shops. But they're great. Not surprised it was doing good business as tennis and cricket equipment can be quite expensive for decent kit and is pretty popular, moreso than places like Sports Direct and others seem to think anyway. Those kinds of places normally have cheapo stuff in and gear for very very casual players, nothing that anyone who plays fairly seriously would consider using. Sports Direct have a link to Dunlop somehow so I did get a great deal on a top end Dunlop squash racket in there once. There's a cricket place round here that's been going yolks, very unassuming, small place but people come from far and wide as its so good.
