Great goal by Clyne, after excellent play by Bertrand. Villa are an awful side, and one which I sincerely hope get relegated as they bring nothing to the league. Forster made a shocking error, and ultimately it gave Villa something to hang on to, and we were left chasing the game. Decent point really.

Since when has drawing away at Villa been considered a poor result? (we played like the home team for most of the match!)....In my mind it is another game unbeaten and sets us up nicely for Citeh at home. We still have a 3 win advantage over our expected rivals for a Champion's League position.
We are going to get frustrating games like this, especially against struggling teams but we came back and didn't lose to keep our unbeaten run going.

Pretty lackluster performance that, no real cutting edge, very poor final pass, in fact the only intelligent pass was the lay back for the goal, Disappointing but I guess we've been spoiled so far this season?
Comes to something when we are disappointed with an away point?

Exactly. Villa made themselves very hard to break down. Our crossing was poor, and is a concern as it wasn't great against Leicester either so that needs to be sorted out on the training ground (hint hint Ron).

We got back into old habits...against a side that is getting behind the ball, you need to move quickly before they can organize behind the ball. Too often we didn't do that; much passing in midfield ensued while Villa got back.

The cutback for the goal and Clyne's reaction was very nice to see; seem to have been more than a few situations where the ball has ended up wandering through the penalty area (or getting partially cleared) in recent weeks without there being someone hanging around the edge of the box to capitalize.
During the game, I was thinking about Arsenal v ManU. It was similar in the sense that Arsenal were very much on top and yet ManU counter-attacked and won. But let's not run away with the similarity too much. Arsenal were at home, we weren't, and they lost, we didn't.

Saints didn't run out of ideas. They were mature and made sure they didn't lose. Then they had 10 minutes to try to win it. OK, they ran out of time. That's the difference between Arsenal and Saints - intelligent, patient football, with plenty of variation. That was us this evening, and it gave us the chance to win, which we couldn't capitalise on. Some games you win, some games you don't. But you don't stop trying.

I ment Boruc. I rate Forster, just give him time.

I like Forster too, but he's meant [sorry to be pedantic, but notice how I spell meant, Beef] to be a rounded and complete keeper. He has proper weaknesses at PL level, which Boruc's overall play may [I say may] be superior in the PL.

Wish Boruc wasn't so much of a Diva, because if he had stayed he'd be pushing Forster every week, in my opinion.

Beefy has stated several times on here that he is dyslexic TSS, I really don't think that you need to pick him up on his grammar, just deal with the points he has made.

Oh FFS, I'm so fully aware of that, it's not true. But he isn't beyond learning either, OK. SA..? Perhaps, he might remember in future, if I make a point of it. It was only with that in mind that I made the point. I don't attempt to score argument points [sigh].

Consider that I care that Beefy tries to improve himself, not that I want to make him look silly.
