Some idiots on here have said "Why don't you concentrate on your own team, and leave us alone basically" Well, because, you see, we don't play in a 1 team league? And other teams performances also affect league tables, so.........when another team gets gifted 3 points, any annoyed opposition fan is going to get involved. You're 3 points nearer to us than you should be (6 if you include Villa), so as well as helping yourselves to other clubs products with the never ending Joe Lewis cheques, (c'mon you must have some embarrassment?) you're also a very lucky team. You obviously don't give a flying fig how you get your 3 points judging by the comments on here, but then just look at the way Pinnochio celebrated when scoring against a very ordinary 10 man Hull team, there's your template. Verts was giving everyone abuse, just like he always does. I think he can wind anyone up with a couple of sharp words or a tug down of their shorts.
One of our clubs has been backed relentlessly with the owners' money, while the other has been self-sustaining. I'll give you a hint as to which one's had the cash: This club was recently in administration in League One, sacked their manager after he'd got them back-to-back promotions and has only ever won one trophy.
I rarely look at other team's boards. I'm a Spurs fan. However, as far as I'm aware, there are not hoards of our fans on your board criticising, trying to take the piss, etc. hence the comment, I believe. It always makes me chuckle that we only ever see people like you when their teams are having good spell - never when it's all going pear shaped. Let's see where you are at the end of the season!
I don't know what Sa1nts is trying to prove but he is giving me a good laugh and for that I'm happy for him to stay and keep spouting off
I really don't get why anyone thinks the sending off was clear. It must have been for Violent Conduct which the laws define as "A player is guilty of violent conduct if he uses excessive force or brutality against an opponent when not challenging for the ball." While he clearly tangled with Vertonghen was it really excessive force or brutal? But the claim that Vertonghen was in any way to blame is ridiculous - all he did was fall over when fouled off the ball.
The precedent suggests that any aggressive action off the ball will be considered a straight red. How many times have we seen players lean their head in and get sent off? That's hardly excessive force or brutality. If you let Gaston kick out at Jan then Jan's entitled to kick back after and then another player gets involved and we end up with matches being turned into a joke as each player is allowed to go further and further to wind the other up until someone gets sent off. Ramirez knew what he was doing and the consequences if it was spotted, he just thought he could get away with it.
Self sustaining? 'Bale'd' out you mean? (one of ours by the way.....) Don't be soft PNP we won the mighty Paint Trophy.... please log in to view this image Anyway I supposed we should be flattered by your constant, if tedious, interest in all things Southampton, apparently Gladys, the Saints tea lady, has been offered 3 packs of marigolds by Levy, he's heard her moist pineapple turnovers are to die for. Martin Chivers was a Saints academy product as well, you've adored the 'Southampton Way' for years.......
Except if its Jack Wilshere of course! he showed the clearest dissent imaginable and then put his head against Fellaini and didn't get a card for either. I just wish the precedents were properly described in the Laws and then consistently applied. Interestingly what Gaston's offence couldn't have been was a yellow card. It wasn't Reckless - “Reckless” means that the player has acted with complete disregard to the danger to, or consequences for, his opponent. So it was either a red or nothing.
Yep, that's self-sustaining. Buy players, sell them on at a profit and buy some more. Not go into administration, have a rich bloke pay off your debts and spend a load on players to get up the divisions. Shame we'd already bought out the sell-on clause on Bale by then, eh? £2.5m plus Tommy Forecast instead of £5m and 25%. Great deal.
I'd forgotten about that one. Yeah, Wilshere got away with one there and everyone was quick to point it out. Funny how Gaston lashing out against us has the opposite response from others.
Ramirez showed malicious intent by kicking out not once but a couple of times, and it seemed like he was trying to kick out at Dembele before kicking out at Verts as well. Steve Bruce's response that a player falling over is worse than somebody kicking them is about as insipid as all those En-ger-lund boneheads making out that Cristiano Ronaldo winking is a far worse foul than Wayne Rooney trampling on Ricardo Carvalho's family jewels back in 2006.
Forecast, Crouch, Hoddle, Clyne. Southampton love trying to copy the "Tottenham way" by signing our former players
Clearly onside, the guy covering the left back area played him on. I bet you thought Ramires deserved to go as well didn't you? Like **** did he.
Paul Allen, Lee Barnard, Peter Crouch, Calum Davenport, Grzegorz Rasiak, Jamie Redknapp... there's quite a list.
