Gretna's rise was phenomenal, it was a shame what happened to them. Brooks Mileson withdrew his support and after that they were ****ed; they were effectively a Third Division side playing in the top flight. They couldn't even play at Raydale Park, as it was pretty much like Ferriby's ground. It'd be the same as somebody like Fleetwood Town suddenly becoming a Premier League club next season. I recall we loaned them Ben Wilkinson for a while. There is a phoenix team that has come into existance called Gretna 2008, who play at Raydale Park, and with promotion to Scottish League 2 now available we could see them again soon.
