Surely it is time to try a midfield pairing of Coquelin and JBG ?

Coquelin was excellent in the second half yesterday when he got on the ball in the middle, and started spraying it around. JBG is technically the best player in our side, but he sees too little of the ball out wide. He is not that fast, and his crossing is terrible. Our corners yesterday were diabolical. Four in the first half...all identical...all failed to beat the first man.

The Jacko/Cousins midfield combo has had it's day. Yet another game has passed JJ by, the skipper's performances these days have the words "impact sub only" stamped all over them..... Cousins passing and touch remind me of a brain surgeon carrying out an operation whilst wearing a pair of oven gloves.

I thought Coquelin was excellent yesterday. Quick into the tackle, good technique and can pass the ball well. I would have Gudmundsson playing off Vetokele. Jackson is not the player he was but I can't see Peeters dropping him.

The Coq looked classy - really hoping we go on to keep him till the end of the season at a minimum - but fear he will return to arsenal considering their poor results.,

JBG is probably my favourite player, and agree with dick he should play off Vetokele.

Agree with Super and dick about JBG, but also with Vol about JBG's terrible crossing. For such a talented player it really should be better.

Every time the calls rise for Jackson to be dropped, he pops up with a goal (it seems). That said, all too frequently games pass him by, and Coquelin looked a class above watching on the stream yesterday. I'd like to see Cousins with Coquelin in the middle.

There hasn't been any news of Buyens injury, but I don't expect him to play on Saturday, so Coquelin will get the def-mid spot. My choice would be Cousins though, and would have been as soon as Poyet left. When you remember how well he played there at first, allowing Stephens to get forward and closing things up at the back, I can't help feeling we've missed a trick by not allowing him to develop in that role. Instead he seems to be a "utility player" now, a bit like Steve Gritt used to be, and equally committed. And he may even have gone backwards as a def-mid, he wasn't too impressive against Fulham. So I'd give him a run of games there(playing manager).

Am I right in saying Ipswich is Cocquelin's final game for us ?

I fear it being a case of we've seen what we're missing with him. Classy player who clearly improves the side.

Agreed. Light years ahead of Buyens.

Buyens was excellent at first, although lacking in stamina. Doesn't seem to fancy it so much now.

Not sure whether it is the tv coverage or me being able to watch them, but Charlton will have to break the hoodoo again as they are live on 'beIN' cable tv tonight, i am ecstatic. Not too late either being 11:15pm here kickoff time.

I want to witness a win for once. Come on !

Really hope you get to see a victory, Oz. But the betting man in me is saying lump £20 on a 0-0 and 1-1.
