A big lad like Tomkins should be ashamed of himself; you might feel Fellaini is a twat but he didn't go rolling around when Wilshere pushed him

How does the lino not see that Soldado is 5 yards offside from the free kick? Stood behind the wall on his own in front of McGregor so clearly interfering with play.

Unless you can't be offside from a free kick?

Nah you can, it's just that he didn't touch the ball or anything. Personally I hate seeing a good goal disallowed just cos of someone irrelevant stood offside not actually touching the ball.

Yeah, as long as he wasn't in McGregor's eyeline then it's fine.

Ever played in goal at a reasonable level? A player standing in front of you is always going to have a huge effect on how you approach saving a shot no matter whether he touches the ball or not. MOTD highlighted Greegsy having to lean over to look round the offside player.

I saw that at the time. The keeper had to move to look around Soldado, who was in an offside position, and was obviously distracted. Consequently, Soldado was "interfering with play" and the goal should have been disallowed. That said with all the diving, injury faking and sleezy gamesmanship employed by today's cheating footballers, I don't envy the officials who obviously try their best but in a split second miss things.

In the Milan derby last night, Dodo got an accidental whack in the face, knocked him down, lost s**tloads of blood, within a minute he was back on his feet playing with no histrionics at all. And we still moan about cheating foreigners.

Don't you think it's a bit of a **** way to see a goal disallowed? Eg if it's a direct free kick but your goal doesn't count cos someone's stood offside. I hate it. It used to be just if you touched the ball, and it wasn't offside unless it came straight from a teammate. I dunno when all this second phase bollocks came in but I hate it.
