He was but even when he wasnt in the team and serving his ban, there was more confidence in the team than now, more aggression and positive attacking play. Whats changed? Its broadly the same team and apart from Studges injury, why is the dynamic gone? First saw it at the Villa game. Negative play, back passing, no attack. Its just spiralled downwards since. Has Rodgers lost the dressing room?

Did Joe play today? How was he? Played very well against Belgium last week.

  3. Had to change his shirt after a head injury. Obviously, it must have effected his game.

  4. This is a quote from Brod after today's game...

...I've highlighted the bit I'd like to focus on.

If that part is true, he must think we have a world class team and he is adopting the Shakly attitude of 'come and beat us' because he never bloody changes it!!! He didn't choose to play Lambert, Balotelli's injury forced him into it. Glen 'I must play at all costs' Johnson got played at LB rather than be on the bench, Gerrard played again (fair enough, he's just had two weeks off though) and yet again we saw a Skrtel & Lovren partnership at the back along with the lone striker up top. These are all things we've been doing all season that haven't been working. Picked a side to win the game my arse, you picked your favourites again Brendan <doh>

He does have a tendency of doing that .Sinclair was one of his favourites when he was at Swansea and regardless of his form was continual picked in front of Routledge who has come on leaps and bounds since the both of them have left us.

The rumour is that Rodgers has lost the dressing room. The belief has gone and the favouritism does not help.

What baffles me is his persistence with Johnson and lovren. Are these two even worthy of the shirt?

  7. Strange you should say that, I said the exact same thing to a mate in the pub this afternoon! The passion and drive we saw last season as gone, the signings we have made have been poor and the results are somewhat lacking. It is very possible he has already lost the dressing room, if not it won't be long if we don't start winning and even then, it needs to be a winning run.

Only thing I see adversely is that Johnson and Gerrard are probably two key figures in the changing room and they play every game without fail. why would they be against Brod...?

    Just on.

    here is my view.

    1. I do believe that rodgers has lost the dressing room.

    2. The insipid performances from sterling, coutinho and lallana were directly responsible for today. amongst other things of course. But this three have no drive, no physiciality and zero ability to hold it and we were those 4 v 6/8 players and they'd nothing to offer

    3. Johnson is a huge joke. this alone has me wanting rodgers sacked tomorrow. Wathcing the guy wanting to run the ball out of play rather than touch it time and again, back pass and not bother to run back is just a joke. with a real LB on the bench and this joke on the pitch for 90 thats criminal

    4. Gerrard's just doing whatever now. For me rodgers clealry will never drop him and he's the one who wandered into the office and laid on the balotelli ultimatum. This stuff has to stop. Gerrard's not giving 10% of whats needed to justify that kind of attitude.

    5. thier second goal was a joke. LB missing... unsurprisingly. the LCB was on the side line for chuff's sake what the hell was going on there.... miserable but fully expected from the 25th minute or so.

For me this is inevitable now and only a question of time and how big a disaster FSG want on thier hands. I feel the CL will be i nthier minds and they will let that play out before doing anything. I feel they should be on the phone to get the probably very short list of 2/3 guys capable of turning this mess into anything other than a 15th place finish right now.

Oh and sorry but it was a miserable performance from just baout every player but for me sterling needs dropping for at least 2 months. He's burned out mentally not physically. its like 2 years ago all over again.

  9. That's the goal that annoyed me! The ball comes in and it was like a slow motion reply watching it. Both Skrtel and Lovren just watch the ball go across the box and react far too late. Then to top it off, the shot goes through Migs too <doh>

After going 3-0 up at Selhurst Park last season, it was the counter-attack that killed us in the second half. Why did Brod not learn from that experience / mistake...????????????

cos he isn't showing any learning at all. make no mistake palace are woeful. I saw a piss poor sides who only has two things going for them.. a bit of pace at left forward and 9 men behind the ball the minute they lost it. Really weak side.

LFC have lost it completely and carragher was right they have no will or fight at all.

Agreed.Palace is really a weak side - they have not won at home since early September. Any top side would have expected to win there. But for LFC to make them look good just shows how bad we were. Disgraceful.

It is also quite instructive that IF Rodgers had told his players that this was a must win game then his players didn't actually follow him.

In fact, his recent performances could have been much worse. The win at QPR (another poor side) and they were unlucky not to get any points.

qpr should have won that one.... they could have

    the reality is

    LFC best player...

    manquillo

    LFC problems.

CB falling over themsevles with fright
Teams putting two players in on mingolet and NOT ONE SINGLE LFC PLAYER BOTHERING THEIR ARSE SHOVE THE F'RS OUT. WTFFFFF!!!
    GERRARD... where are you playing?
JOHNSON... FFS. killed half the pitch for us today.
lallana, sterling, coutinho. All the same, no power, drive, physicality, couldn't link up together. very average
    striker? what striker? <laugh>

I have to say theteam is now totally gone. there is no team. I'd have to say the sack is coming and for me we could take an awful beating this wednesday. I cannot see us winning it anyway.

I don't know if it's been mentioned already but it seems to be that Rodgers doesn't know his best 11 or his best formation. Last season he had a very tight knit squad and only used about 16 outfield players regularly so it was easy to change formation, especially as it was mainly Suarez moving position and he can influence a game from anywhere.

The problems with injuries and the added CL games, and players not hitting the heights of last season e.g. Henderson. Best thing is he picks a formation and sticks with it for a few games.

  14. Not quite. The problem is he thinks he knows the best eleven and formation! If all fit and available, he picks the same eleven each game.

But at the very least his formation doesn't fit the players you have, so he can't know his best formation.

  16. I didn't say he knows the best players or formation. I said he thinks he knows them. Ie, he's not picking the right setup.

Remember really thinking Martin Kelly would go on to become a great RB when he first broke through to the first team. Don't know what happened to him after that and was surprised to hear when he was sold.

It's hard to stick with a manager when the performance are so bad, losing a game in a battle can be hard enough but when we roll over like that it's hard to take.
