    So according to the daily fail (here), we're going to be signing Canales on loan from Real Madrid. Obviously, what better time to get this exclusive info from your un-nameable source than at 1am Sunday night <doh>

    Ignoring the fact that this is blatant bullshit, would he be a good loan signing? I'm no fan of heping out another team's players improve (disregarding the fact that we arent exactly going to be playing RM any time soon) and there's no guarantee that he'll be instantly suited to our league, infact the odds are stacked against him adapting in what would be quite a short loan period...

    Why would we loan someone who we are unlikely to use in the first team? .... Story would have been more believable if they said "Toon keeping Tabs" or something only these lines

    not a clue, but considering he's 20 and got given a 6 year contract at Real, I'd say he's half decent...

    Firstly its probably not true, but he would be a class signing, and would defiantley be in and around the first team, seen him play a couple of times and the ball seems to stick to his feet like glue..

    I'm going to assume that's sarcasm, but RM will have the hope that he can play at a similar level to their other attacking midfielders at some point in his 6 year contract

    Can't see it happening. Newcastle want to sign young players cheap to improve their value when they sell them on. A loan deal would only constitute spending money and making none.

    Canales has promise, but like most young players, probably set his career back a good few years by taking the mega-club money shot too soon.

    Not seen to much of him so not sure how good he is, but I don't think we should be loaning players unless there is an option to buy at the end of it <ok>

    I think he'd be a good signing but can't see it happening. I wouldn't be surprised if Real loaned him out as he didn't really feature for them last season.
