Today was his best performance to date in our shirt (pre-red card).

How much of a cowardly pussy is Vertonghen? He's 6 ft 2 in and went down like he'd been kneecapped by a 20 gauge. <doh>

    Shocking decision.

Don't like blaming referee's and too be fair Ramirez should have wised up to the fact that Pawson was suffering from a bad case of being "Star struck" he was giving us nothing while they were getting everything , while chatting at half time we were saying ,city will have to be careful around him and so it was.

Dawson was excellent and Davies made fewer mistakes than in his recent matches, I thought the Ben Arfa/Elmo and Brady/Robertson combos worked well, but we missed Diame in the middle. Huddleston was a couple of yards off the ball for a lot of the game, chasing it aimlessly at times, and Livermore faded away as the game went on. Ramirez I thought played well in the first half and though he didn't deserve a red card it's not difficult to see why it was given; same principle as when a player can be sent off for putting their hand in someones face - it doesn't have to be a punch for it to be a sending off. Jelavic worked his arse off as usual but was totally isolated after the sending off. McGregor didn't do anything wrong. One win from the next three is about the best we can hope for but I'd still put my mortgage on us staying up. UTT!

Look, it should be a man's game but under the rules today, that is a red card, City fan or not.

Is it ****. He didn't even kick out. Vertonghen gets his legs caught between Ramirez's, so he thought he'd go down.

Seen the replay, he punched him in the back. Red all day for me.

Really? The sending off was wrong, the free kick for their first goal shouldn't have been a free kick, Meyler was fouled late on and the ref ignored it, Robertson was tripped late on and the ref ignored it. Livermore and Huddlestone made plenty of decent tackles, only for the ref to blow his whistle and deem them as fouls. The ref was utter, utter garbage.

It's more of a slap. Carragher was bemused a card was even given.

Nope. Definite foul for the free kick. Soldado rolled Davies, free kick all day long.

The ref also ignored Jakes reckless lunge in the back. Whcih was a definite yellow.

The Meyler one was an embaraasing attempt to win a free kick.

Not sure of the Robbo one as I was at the other end.

In the modern game a punch or slap is a red card. He put his hands to his head because he knew what was coming.

A slap to the backside which makes a player falls over isn't.

By your ruling, when soldado went down in the second half for a hand in the face, we should have had another red.

And the trip on Robertson in the last five minutes down the left wing? Meyler was clattered as well. Livermore and Huddlestone made a lot of decent tackles, but they were seen as fouls by the ref. You're either blind or stupid if you think the ref had a good game.

Never a red card that. I thought it was a lot worse on first viewing, so I have a little sympathy for the linesman. What did the Sky pundits say?

Andy Hinchcliffe on co-commentary said "I'm sorry, that's just not a red card".

Chris Coleman also said it was never a red and related it back to when Spurs got an opposition player sent off at Villa a few weeks back. Jamie Carragher was bemused by it and couldn't believe a card was even given saying the centre half has made the most of it.

Ellewoods said pundits on the network he was watching also said it was never a red.

Totally agree with you OLM (Except for the overreaction in red). Thought he was having a good game although I did comment on a couple of occasions in first half that he looked too hyped up and that he was already a red card waiting to happen. Ref was an absolute useless arsehole.

Just watched Robbo, no foul. Meyler wasnt a foul at all he ran into the spurs player deliberately.

Calm down dear. We were desperate and going mad for anything. Watch it again. We lost cos HBA missed a ****ing sitter and Ramirez was a knob.

Rarely have I heard a KC crowd bash the ref so much, he gave every 50/50 Spurs way, every City tackle gave them a free kick, every Spurs tackle was ignored until late in the second half, when each free kick was met with ironic jeers.

The sending off was down to the lino rather than the ref and Ramirez should never have put himself in that position, it was stupid, but we were getting nothing and the officials largely decided the result today.
