To be fair BRS they have lost Sturridge to injury. That's one player so we really can't compare our injury list to theirs. In those circumstances Rodgers is working miracles to keep them off the bottom of the table.

The real enjoyable thing about today when watching Palace win was that **** Alan Parry having to do the commentary, a Liverpool fan who doesn't mind letting you know it and delights in rubbing other fans nose in it when he gets to commentate on his beloved team. Doesn't have any time for us either I may add. I put up with the dickhead doing football on Midlands TV for years before he came to Sky as well. Totally despise him and his ****in team. May the suffering continue for as long as possible this season and the next decade after.

I thought Liverpool looked really poor again. They seem to have developed the problem we had last year, they are easy to bully. We have toughened up as we have adapted, added Janmaat and got more home growns into the side. Thing is Liverpool had 9 starters yesterday who wee either british or had played enough football here. They have lost a bit of a spark and their confidence is obviously rock bottom. I don't mind Liverpool to be honest. I know BRS has expressed his dislike before, and quite a few turned on them over the Carroll and Enrique deals (bizarre logic for me the 2nd lot).

I rate Rodgers, and thought he had them playing great football last year. Now he has a different challenge and you learn more in these circumstances. Just goes to show how difficult it can be and how quickly things can turn around in the PL. So competitive.

Problem IMO with Rodgers and the teams he has or does manage is that they play with the ball too much, almost to the extent of passing the leather off the ball. ( Are balls made of leather now !? ) Great passers and great possession stats but unfortunately, with the exception of Liverpool/Suarez last year, they never do much with it. Usually hard to beat as they have the ball but not many wins as they don't use it effectively.

What I heard a commentator describe during a recent Barcelona match as "an obsession with possession". Looks great if you have a Suarez or Messi (or, in the case of Barcelona, both) to add end product. Otherwise it is much as you describe.

They really didn't replace Suarez. Like you say he gave them that balance in that he'd be much more direct than the others. Bringing in Balotelli was crazy! They should have broke the bank and bought Shaquiri or someone of that ilk. It was the deep lying forward they needed, the one who would make things happen

Cant see Ballotelli staying there. Saw him on the tv at the Tony Bellew fight in liverpool which finished at 12:30am Saturday night, litterally 13 hours before kickoff in London. I'd be livid if that was a Newcastle player, I do also wonder how much longer are the owners going to give BR funds, i think his spent close to 200m since his been there

As for these people mocking the Newcastle fans who vocally wanted Pardew out. I've had a quick look at the pre-Swansea results for us and make it:

    previous 14 prem games: played 14 W1 D3 L10 F10 A31 Pts 6 (which is pretty shocking)

    previous 27 games: played 27 W5 D4 L18 F20 A50 Pts19

If you can find me a group of fans who wouldn't be complaining after 6 pts in 14 games (and a -21 gd!) or 19 pts in 27 games I'd be amazed. That isn't just relegation form that is bottom of the table relegation form and getting less than half a point per game is almost mackem-esque. The way the media try to suggest we were quick to complain is hilarious, if there is a team in the league with 19 points or less after 27 games their manager will have been sacked.

I'm amazed by this turn around but a good month doesn't change what was over half a season of abject football.

Leeds would have gone through 57 managers in that spell.

If we're not top by January then Pardew has to go.

It is pretty incredible we are still in the prem with those stats. Absolutely ridiculously bad form!

Defo Jim. He has been handed a title challenging squad and if he can't deliver we'll have to get some who can.

Mate I have hated Liverpool for years. Many, many years before the Carroll and Enrique deals went through. I hate them nearly as much as Sunderland but yes it did hit a high note during that period mainly because that disgusting Scottish bastard was managing them. That day when we beat them 2-0 and their goalkeeper was sent off and he staggered on the pitch like some pathetic wino with Gerrard, clearly embarassed, telling him to get back into the dugout was a most happy day.
