But my, admittedly brief, glances at that thread show efforts like MITO's to denigrate SAF by comparing him to pretty much every good manager in the world and argue he's average on the basis he had a much longer career than them, and thus his ability to win a similar amount of major trophies is somehow worse I can't ever remember Utd fans bothering to try and denigrate Shankly or Paisley by comparing them to Herbert Chapman or Ernst Happel. Just seems oh so petty imo, although I know it's not every Liverpool fan doing it.
Time for a reality check. United fans will always find Liverpool downfalls amusing, but it's just the same with Arsenal & Spurs, Celtic & Rangers, Newcastle Sunderland, Portsmouth and Saints, etc etc. It's part of the rivalry. The dippers found it very amusing last year when we had one bad year in 25 with Rogers being touted by the YSB's as a potential messiah to the kop. Now it's all gone pear shaped,its human nature for United fans to return the abuse.
